Re: Formula 1 General Chat & Discussion

1st some short news :

Robert Kubica will not return to F1 in time for the start of the 2012 season, Renault has confirmed this on the 23rd of november 2011.
A statement issued by the team said: “Robert Kubica has today informed Lotus Renault GP that, despite having started an intensive training programme, it is still too early for him to commit to driving in the 2012 championship.

“Robert’s progress remains impressive – he can now walk freely, and move his hand and elbow -, but he feels that he needs more time to return to full fitness.

“Lotus Renault GP remains committed to helping Robert as much as possible in his recovery process. A test car is ready and waiting for him, and a dedicated crew is on stand-by. Of course, Robert will remain a member of the LRGP family in 2012 and he is already, through his management, holding talks about renewing his contract for the following season.

“Although very disappointed by the news, Lotus Renault GP will start assessing its options and will evaluate the most suitable candidate to drive from the first 2012 winter testing session. Once again, all the members of Lotus Renault GP wish Robert a full and speedy recovery as we say: ‘Szybkiego powrotu do zdrowia’ – Get well soon our friend.”

Kubica said: “Even if I’ve been working very, very hard over the course of the last few weeks, I came to the conclusion that I am not yet certain to be ready for the 2012 season. I have called the team and I have informed them of the situation."
“This was a difficult decision to make, but it is the most reasonable one. I also know that LRGP need to prepare for next year, and further extending deadlines would not have been the right thing to do."

In the meantime, the Team will start talking to a few drivers in order to finalise the line-up for next year as soon as possible. Robert will take it step by step and will jump back in his racing car when he feels it is the right moment to do so.

Luiz Razia will be driving the 1st free practice session on friday for Team Lotus. The 22-year old Brazilian, who also drove for the Team last week at the young-driver test at Abu Dhabi will now drive the car of Jarno Trulli . Razia allready did a free practice session earlyer this year on friday at the circuit of Shanghai.

For Felipe Massa will be the Brazilian Gp something special ,not because the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace will be his home Gp ,but because it will be his 100st race start with a Ferrari !!!!
Massa " Hope that next year i can do much better than this season "
Ferrari warns Massa " He has to proof himself in 2012 "
Massa recommends/advices Rubens Barrichello (40 year) to announce his retirement. Ferrari -driver Massa thinks it would be better for Rubens to announce his retirement from Formula 1.

Who will become the Team mate of Pedro De la Rosa next season at HRT ? : Vitantonio Liuzzi, Dani Clos, Daniel Ricciardo or Jean-Eric Vergne. Also on the shortlist for HRT :Giedo van der Garde (Netherlands ) and Adrian Sutil ( German)

Martin Tomczyk and BMW have confirmd that they have come to agreement for next years DTM-seizoen 2012, so Tomczyck has left Audi and has now a contract signed with BMW !

And now the main reason of this post :

This weekend will be the last race of the Formula 1 season 2011 at the Interlagos cirtcuit of Brasil Cry ,so for the last time are here the times for this weekends F1 :

2008 (last race of the season)
1 Felipe Massa Ferrari
2. Fernando Alonso Renault
3. Kimi Räikkönen Ferrari
4. Sebastian Vettel (3 years ago driving a Toro Rosso)
5. Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes (world champion after an incredible finish)
fastest lap on race: Felipe Massa Ferrari

will be the 39° edition of Brazil GP (in 1972 was held a race does not valid for the F1 championship)
Until now 28 editions at Interlagos(this year will be 29) and 10 editions at Jacarepagua (last time was in 1989)
The Interlagos circuit is one of the most challenging and exciting circuits on the F1 calendar. The circuit consists of a blend of high and slow speed corners, with gradient changes. The surface is irregular and full of bumps. The circuit runs anti-clockwise, so races are particularly hard for the drivers, also due to heat and humidity. At the beginning of the lap, the cars approach the “S do Senna”in downhill. Other famous corners are: Curva do Sol, Subida do Lago, and the Ferradura. Probably one of the most difficult curve on the circuit. Then in the mid-section we find a few slow corners and and a tight hairpin, while in the final sector there are three left corners: Junção, Subida do Boxes, followed by Arquibancada, a long and very fast curve. Finally a good track. Unforgettable was the Brazilian Grand Prix of 1991. Ayrton Senna battles through mechanical trouble(in the last laps he had only the sixth gear) and rain to take an emotional win in front of him home crowd. Look at the video of the last lap with the comment in the Brazilian language. When Ayrton passed under the checkered flag, as usual, begins the music "tema da vitoria" and you can hear his screams of joy; finally, for the first time, wins the home Grand Prix. An entire Nation celebrated his hero. Another memorable edition was that of 2008(last GP of the season). Massa wins the race and believed to be world champion, but a few corners before the finish, Hamilton overtakes Timo Glock, arrives in fifth place and becomes the new world champion for only one point in the standings. Last lap: Hamilton 1 min 29 sec (hard wet tyre) last lap Glock 1 min 48 sec (dry soft tyre). Chaotic and unusual was the edition of 2003, after a wet race full of surprises. When the GP was stopped in the first instance was given the victory to Raikkonen by a mistake. A few days after the FIA noticed the error and gave the victory to Fisichella.
The medium(white) and the soft(yellow) tyre will be used as “prime” and “option” respectively.
FIA decided single DRS zone for Brazilian Grand Prix. After turn three on the back straight.

Re: Formula 1 General Chat & Discussion

Spaniard Pedro De la Rosa( 40year ) has signed a 2 season contract at HRT (2012-2013) !

De la Rosa made his debut in 1999 at Arrows. In 2001 & 2002 he drove for Jaguar to become in 2003 a testdriver at McLaren. In 2005 De la Rosa replaced the injured Juan Pablo Montoya for 1 race ,a year later he drove the last 8 races of that season after the Columbian announst that will go driving Nascar . In 2010 he drove for Sauber ,after 14 races he got replaced by Nick Heidfeld ( Quick Nick ) because of the disappointing performance he did . The Spaniard became then test driver for Pirelli, after which he then returnd at the beginning of this year to McLaren as there testdriver. He was from 2003 till 2009 + 2011 the testdriver for the Team of Woking .
Now let's wait and see who will become the second driver of that Team Cool

Re: Formula 1 General Chat & Discussion

interlagos circuit

Interlagos is an upper class neighborhood located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It includes the Autódromo José Carlos Pace race track, home of the Formula One Brazilian Grand Prix. Its name (adapted from Interlaken, Switzerland) comes from the fact that the region is located between two large reservoirs, Guarapiranga and Billings, built in the early 20th century to supply water and electric power to the city. The suburb of Interlagos is located in the south region of São Paulo City to the right edge of the Guarapiranga reservoir.
The Autódromo José Carlos Pace itself is still commonly called Interlagos, although this hasn't been its official name since the 1970s.
The history of the Interlagos circuit dates back to the 1920s, when the city of São Paulo was undergoing a process of fast urbanization.

Why you think that he can lose his job? His position in LRGP is safe, especially when we have bad news about Robert Kubica's return.

look what happend with Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari ...they gave him a a contract for the next season ,but as soon the next season started we saw Alonso in his place (ofcourse there was allready talks about Alonso coming to Ferrari in the silly season moments ) ,Ferrari gave Raikonnen a big paycheck ..and it was by by Kimi ...so this could easely happen with Petrov

You described situation in Ferrari, where they could choose among very good drivers. LRGP hasn't good situation with drivers. For you, who can be on Petrov's seat? Yes, we have 4 candidates (Senna, Kubica, Petrov, Grosjean) and only 2 seats:

- first is reserved for Kubica, but we are not sure about his return Sad (he had next "last operation" 2 weeks ago). Boullier told if he won't be back on the start of 2012 season, he will be replaced by Grosjean.
- second is free (place for paydriver), but Senna has worse results than Petrov.

I'm not fan of Petrov, but I think Boullier hasn't better solution for his team.

Well..euh Confused.. because this is written on many different Formula 1 website's not only today but many times allready...and also because there is no garantee at all in this F1 circus ! You can have allready a contract for the next season/year but this gives you no garantee ..or be safe to drive for them the next time ( read season ) because we all know that nowadays there is only thing that matters ....not the driver skills of the driver ...but the money that he can bring with him ...and Lotus Renault is no exception ! And also the Team ( Eric Boullier )needs somebody that can bring the Team forward ,so the more he screws up,makes too much mistakes ,etc he will be replaced as soon as possible ,and also they allready have drivers enough who wants to join this Team .So safe ??? hmm i say not at all ..also because look what happend with Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari ...they gave him a a contract for the next season ,but as soon the next season started we saw Alonso in his place (ofcourse there was allready talks about Alonso coming to Ferrari in the silly season moments ) ,Ferrari gave Raikonnen a big paycheck ..and it was by by Kimi ...so this could easely happen with Petrov ...it maybe sounds cruel ...but this is just the truth ...one day you are in F1 ,the next day you are out of F1......it's all about the money...and if you don't have money ( money + some sponsors to back you up or bring sponsors with you ) than it's just over and out ...thanks for everything that you have done for the Team but we have sombody ells ...nice to have had you with us but sorry there is the door and close it behind you please ! That is simple F1 these last couple of years Sad..like it or not but that's how the truth is at F1 Confused !
