the podium of the last two Abu Dhabi GP
2010 1. Sebastian Vettel Red Bull- Renault 2. Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 3 Jenson Button McLaren-Mercedes fastest lap on race: Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 2009 1 Sebastian Vettel Red Bull- Renault 2. Mark Webber Red Bull- Renault 3 Jenson Button Brawn-Mercedes fastest lap on race: Sebastian Vettel Red Bull- Renault will be the 3° edition of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix(Yas Marina Circuit) in my opinion this race takes place on one of the worst track of the season. Designed by renowned architect Hermann Tilke, like the circuits in Bahrein, Malaysia, China, Turkey, Valencia, Singapore, Korea, and India. Infact my favorite circuits are: Spa(the best), Suzuka, Interlagos, Monaco, Silverstone Monza Montreal and Melbourne. Only Sepang and Istanbul are not so bad. Just sufficient New Delhi and Shanghai. Abu Dhabi is one of the few track on the calendar to run in an anti-clockwise direction and overtaking is almost impossible. Perhaps this year you will be able to see a few overtaking only by DRS. As in the last Indian Gran Prix, there will be two separate DRS zones. First DRS zone will be located on the longest straight between Turn 7 and Turn 8. The other on the following straight. Why run on this track? I'd like to see two races each year at Spa-Francorchamps. The section of circuit after the long straight of Kemmel, and up to Blanchimont exalts the driving abilities. But business want the Formula 1 in the desert. The Abu Dhabi race starts at dusk and finishes at night. This produces a challenge in terms of track and tyres temperatures. The main originality of Yas Marina circuit is the pit exit that goes under the circuit through a small tunnel. Last year at this track, Alonso lost the world championship due to a wrong strategy. The Ferrari driver stayed several laps behind Petrov and was never able to overtake. the medium(white) and the soft(yellow) tyre will be used as “prime” and “option” respectively after 17 races, three interesting statistics about the teammates: Red Bull - Vettel: 11 wins, Webber: no victory McLaren - Button on the podium 10 times, only five Hamilton Ferrari - Alonso on the podium 9 times and never Massa |

Short News :
Renault, Lotus and Virgin to change names in 2012 ! The long-standing row over the use of the Lotus name will finally be resolved next year. The FIA’s Formula 1 Commission has approved changes which will see Lotus renamed as Caterham, paving the way for Renault to take the name Lotus from next year, according to the BBC. A further change will see the Virgin team formally change their name to Marussia next season. In May the High Court ruled Lotus had the right to the name Team Lotus, and not Renault, who are sponsored by car manufacturer Group Lotus. The pair have been in negotiations to resolve the dispute since then. Raikkonen comeback rumors. According to Finnish media Kimi Raikkonen will be presented next week in Abu Dhabi as a Williams driver in 2012. The World Champion of 2007 has signed a contract already a while ago . Since September there are already rumors about a possible comeback of Raikkonen after the Finn had visited the Williams factory in Grove. His salary would be funded with money from Qatar, where Williams has a technology center stand. Paul Seaby is the new Lotus Renault team manager. Seaby follows the recently departed John Wickham on. Sam Michael on November 1 went to work at McLaren. The 40-year-old Australian took during the race weekend in Singapore goodbye to Williams, where he worked for the past eight seasons as technical director. Former McLaren-designer Mike Coughlan has taken over the place from S.Michael at Williams . Kind Regards Shaky-Schumi |

abu dhabi circuit
![]() The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is a Formula One race. It was announced in early 2007 at the Abu Dhabi F1 Festival in the United Arab Emirates. The first race took place on November 1, 2009, held at the Hermann Tilke designed Yas Marina Circuit. On June 25, 2008 the FIA announced the provisional 2009 Formula One calendar including the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as the 19th and final race of the season on November 15. On November 5, 2008, however, it was announced that the race would be held as the season finale on November 1, two weeks before the initially planned date, as the 17th and final race. The race was Formula One's first ever day-night race, starting at 17:00 local time. Floodlights used to illuminate the circuit were switched on from the start of the event to ensure there is a seamless transition from daylight to darkness.
