AUSTRALIAN OPEN :
Results Finals :

Men' s Singles : Novak Djokovic (1) def. Andy Murray (6) 7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-0 in 3h 39'
In a final not so spectacular and quite nervous, the world' s N° 1 started better, with a 4-1 advantage in first set, but Murray managed to
break him back on 4-2, Djokovic took the chance to serve for the set on 5-3, but was broken again and in the tie-break Nole closed 7-5, then
in second set Murray went 2-0, Nole made 4 consecutive games, but was again broken and this time the tie-break was dominated by the Scottish,
who went 6-2 and closed 7-4; the third set was decisive for the match, since Murray went 2-0, but Nole was able to go 4-3 and made the deciding
break the successive game, with Murray committing a double fault, closing 6-3; after that the Scottish lost his motivations and the fourth set was dominated by the Serbian; for Djokovic this was the 8th Grand Slam title, the fifth in Australia, for Murray is the fourth final lost in the first Slam of

Re: Tennis in General - Results and Comments

AUSTRALIAN OPEN :
Results Finals :

Women' s Singles : Serena Williams (1) def. Maria Sharapova (2) 6-3, 7-6 (5) in 1h 39'
In a very exciting final the world' s N° 1 started better, breaking Sharapova in the first game, then, on 3-2 30-30, the match was suspended
for 12 minutes due to rain and the mobile roof of the Rod Laver Arena was closed : this stop was bad for the Russian, who went down 5-2, she
reacted, breaking Serena while she was serving for the first set, but the American didn' t care and closed 6-3; then Sharapova immediately saved
two consecutive break-points in the second game of second set and other two on 2-3, Serena saved one break point on 3-3 and, on 5-4 she had
a Championship point, well saved by Sharapova with a forehand right on the line, so the set had to be decided by the tie-break, in which the Russian went 1-0 with a mini-break, but then Serena scored 4 consecutive points, Maria replied with 2 consecutive points, but Williams was able to go 6-4
and close the match 7-5 with her 18th ace ! For Serena this has been the 65th WTA title, 19th Grand Slam and 6th Australian Open (in 6 finals)
