but still too much. Cry

well, I cannot find any button that shows the complete size of all my files nor I can find a button for a folder size.
thus I'll send a mail to RubbishShare with this content:

620 GB??? I doubt this and I'm sure you are a liar. Please show me the button for checking my folder or account size or do you try to rip me off? If you don't offer any chance to check which folders must be removed to lower my account volume under a certain level I will have to assume that you are cheating me. I gave my money for a Premium account without any limits and now you ask me to pay more but you don't offer any chance to check anything.

Edit: my mail this morning (in german of course)

Hallo.

probably a good laugh for every advocat but at least I've tried something. Tongue

Re: Rapidshare changes?

Good luck I spent my money for an external hard disk instead of a RS Premium account.

Re: Rapidshare changes?

Yep, it looks like Rapidshare are determined to commit sepuku (Hari-Kari). They keep changing their rules with little or no notice, and they expect their customers to keep taking it. I for one have had enough of all this shit. And since I have well over 500GB stored then most of my files will be gone. The remainder will last 75 days, and then those will go as well.

In the last 3 years I must have tried well over 5 different file hosts, and every one has turned out to be shit, or opted to become a non sharing host. After re-uploading my files half a dozen times already, I've decided to take a break from it. I will still continue to upload the odd file from time to time, as and when I feel like it.

I just wish these companies would grow a set of balls and stop quaking at the thought of the FBI jumping on them. In the meantime I'll just sit back a while, and see if any are left.

This move by Rapidshare will cause a lot of current members (me included), to say enough is enough. So I doubt Rapidshare will still be in business much longer.

All the best.

Ace.

Re: Rapidshare changes?

Well I've opted to keep the first 500Gb of all my files there, so I'll loose about another 750Gb over and above that. But it hopefully means that the oldest stuff will go and people will have longer to download more current stuff.
But pissed off it will cost me double rapid points to do that.
Once my RapidShare Pro sub expires (in now around Aug-2013 instead of Feb-2014) then I'll not bother renewing this. I'll just have to share the stuff out around free accounts...

783 GB I gotta download or lose the files. If they hadn't have changed their stupid policy earlier in the year I might have bought a Rapid Pro account, but they can go to hell. Possibly the WORSE file host ever now! good bye Rapidshare Thumb downThumb downThumb downAngry

from 20.03.2013 we will change the storage space capacity for RapidPro customers.

You opted for the 500 GB offer. That means that we will switch the storage space limit for your account (A LOT OF NUMBERS) to 500 GB on 20.03.2013.

You can change your selection any time. For that please log in to your account and select a different option. In case you chose the 500 GB offer, please note that the remaining run-time of RapidPro will be cut in half.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.

OK, I found the option to import, the button is above the Folder overview next to "Upload".
Anyway I get the message "ERROR: File owner's public traffic exhausted.", so are you sure that really doesn't count for public traffic?

Unfortunately, you can't transfer a file if the persons usages is already used up. But the transfer itself doesn't count towards it. Even premium users can't transfer if the persons usage is already met as even we get that message.

I know it works, as I've transfered 10's of GB's of files from one user into my account and his allowance wasn't effected or diminished.

If you have your own Rapidshare account, then never download a file from another account holder, always transfer it to your own account and download from there whenever you wish. That way it doesn't diminish their daily allowance or yours, as transfering doesn't count as a download and you can download your own files as much as you want without it effecting your own allowance.
How does this work without being in contacts? Or does this only work with Premium accounts?
By the way, with a free account you also have a daily limit of 1GB for downloading files from your own account.
