Check "my files" to see if they are there or not.

If not, nothing else to do than re-upload.

Check "my files" to see if they are there or not. (Only if you are a registered member. No need to pay for registration)

If not, nothing else to do than re-upload.

Re: Rapidshare changes?

There's a reason I never ever put spaces on the names of my own files... I can expect no standard behaviors from "somebody else".

Re: Rapidshare changes?

I thought this new link creation was a good thing when I first noticed it. But I've suddenly become aware of a big draw back with it.

It's fine, if like on this forum you embed the link within a post so it shows up as just a word you click on. But if you try and post the actual link, then the first space within the link breaks the link so it doesn't show up right.

I became aware of this when I tried sending the new links to my re-uploads on the UKBC forum. So I have now edited all the new links within Rapidshare to include the underscore. And I have edited my post on this forum to include the new links.

This is going to catch a few people out. So make sure if your filename has spaces in it, to edit it and add the underscores before uploading.

All the best

Ace.

Re: Rapidshare changes?

I see Rapidshare have changed the way it's link creation works. It no longer automatically replaces spaces with the underscore, or replaces the "&" symbol. It now creates a link that matches your filename exactly. Thumb up

Which means for those that post download links that are linked to a word within your post, then this works fine. But if you post the link to display within the post, then the space breaks the link, and it no longer shows up correct.

I'll have to careful about this, and maybe edit the filenames in future.

Hopefully this was not a coincidence... Confused

Btw,I have not a premium account at RS.

Damn, I do have a premium account, and I'm lucky if I get that.

But it could be that the person you downloaded off, has set-up a forum account with Rapidshare, which allows free users to download his files at full speed. Rapidshare did make that offer to premium account holders, who post a lot on forums.

Re: Rapidshare changes?

Well I got an email back from them in regards to Firefox12. There responce was they are not responsible for the compatibility of third party browsers. It's upto the company to make it's browser compatible.

Exactly what I expected to get from them. Avoid all responsibility. So I guess we will have to wait for Mozilla to correct the problem.

Ever since the last Firefox update, I have been unable to upload any files with rapidshare's upload manager. It immediately says failed upload whenever you add a file. It still continues to upload, but it's very glitchy. And Firefox suddenly starts using ridiculous amounts of your processors capacity.

However it works perfectly, if I use Google Chrome.

the last days was immediately "Upload Error" shown and no upload speed was visible but the upload was working.
this morning three attempts failed and so I switched from Firefox to IdiotExplorer and with it only two attempts were needed for a successful upload.
so it looks like the problems aren't necessarily browser problems but anyway it's annoying.

looks like I should use the gotten Rapids of the last weeks for buying a new Ego Shooter game on their website. Angry

PS: if anyone wants to send a meesage to RS it'll be ok to use the unfriendly text version. ;) I've sent already the friendly version with my comment about the Firefox problems and the situation in the general the last day.

When the 30kb speed came in it was standard of safari and other browsers but just after this i tried firefox and yes download speed was around 120kb and was going to post the info until i noticed it stop for a few seconds, at the time i was downloading a file and it told me it would take about 1 hour, but after it ended up at 3 hours+ so 30kb average was achieved, also with them pausing there downloads it can stop the download completely! so having to start again.

So pick a browser that sticks at 30kb all of the time and less chance of the download losing completely
The right words. I came to the same conclusion.
