download speed as a free user???

I've realised some weeks ago that the upload speed for IdiotExplorer is much faster than with Firefox and so I use IdiotExplorer for the RS upload (and the web based MS server services of course) and Firefox for the rest although the last Firefox versions were mainly crap.
already for the folder management of my RS premium is Firefox needed because it doesn't work with IdiotExplorer (maybe also a Jave or ActiveX problem). but since some days I have serious problems with public RS folders (which are anyway crap compared with the user friendly MU in the past) and with the use of several check boxes (using Firefox 12).
so maybe the up- and download speed has been increased but the coding and use of the website itself has become worse in the last weeks. Sad

For me the picture is the abolute opposite.

I have over the last 3 days tried to download "mic02s" [hidden link - please register]
Every time I have tried no matter morning, afternoon, evening or night the download time is 7 HOURS

With this download time it will be impossible to keep up with downloads with only 24 hours available per day.

RapidsharePro is not an option for me.

Thanks anyway to all you good people who upload all the interesting video. GREAT JOB

Yes, download speed is still 30kb/s for non-premium users, meaning a little over 100mb/hour. Sad
Rapidshare seems to be the big profiteer in the MEGAdisaster.

Meanwhile all accused in the MU-raid have been bailed out, Kim "Dotcom" Schmitz has been granted by the court a monthly benefit of 35.000$
from his frozen accounts (he requested 60.000).
The lawsuit against them is on the brink of failing due to formal mistakes.

with Napster it wasn't very different, the above [hidden link - please register] doesn't exist that is why it is impossible to download

since the middle of march most RS accounts (of course only the ones with files and shared dl links) get some Rapids for so called "RapidShare Invite Friends Commission" (check Overview - Rapids - Show transactions). this looks like a replacement for the former reward system because I doubt that so many people bought a Premium account after checking my files. I've gotten in the last 6 weeks ~ 7.500 Rapids with this which means I got enough Rapids for 0.75 years in only 6 weeks.
This and the new higher upload speed is fine for Premium members and could be a motivation to edit finally all my MU links to RS links.

for free loaders it's of course the same shit as some days or weeks ago but several OCHs are even worse than RS and RS is still the most reliable file hoster since several years.

I have also a number of friends, who have over the last year given me a considerable amount of rapids, (I think they are genuine),for premium members a bonus which helps pay for the space. I hold 152 GB of files (1391) there. RS may be inconvenient for some, but for me with the added Rapidshare Manager this service is at the present moment by far the best.

Its Rapidshares latest promotion, i think i got 198 Rapids last week and will be back to normal in 30 days if you don't upgrade to premium Cry but still nice getting files to download at 1.1MB while it lasts Smile

I assume either overload or maintainance work.

they are obviously working on their servers. the max upload speed is now higher than last week but still one or more of their servers are with problems and offer a by far lower up- and download speed even for Premium Members.
