If you're encoding your videos (for example MPEG2 to MP4) with Avidemux, you can cut on every frame. Only the first cut in the video must be on an I-frame. If you're using Avidemux in "copy-mode", then you are limited to cut on I-frames only. I would highly recommend to use the stable 2.5.x versions of Avidemux. The 2.6.x versions of Avidemux are still "buggy beasts", but can handle MPEG4 significantly better than the 2.5 versions. One advantage ok, but I'm not sure that it's helpful when the application crashes all the time...
I am using the latest 2.5.6-build for Arch-Linux and it runs "rockstable". It's my favourite software to edit/cut and encode videos and so far I had never any problems with it. I even edit my ETV-Videos with Avidemux and sometimes there are between 150-200 cuts necessary (because of the very "nervous camerawork") - no problem at all for Avidemux. @ brudgon Please open the preferences-tab audio and select the correct sound-server & audio-output on your system! |

Not sure if thats what you mean:
[Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] You should cut only on I-Frames (Frame Type). If you use the arrows marked as "1", you can navigate to every sub-frame, the arrows marked "2" only steer to I-frames. The slide-control also brings you to I-frames. When Avidemux saves/renders your video, it creates a new frametable automatically. |

This is just my own experience and maybe someone else works without freezing. VirtualDub is a very stable and as I see there are plugins to FLV ( FLV plugins + x264vfw codec needed ). Basically the Avidemux is a great program . And the interface is nicer / friendlier than VirtualDub. Anyway I am looking forward to your first yummy videos . |

Here's an useful and easy to understand tutorial how to use RTMPDumpHelper:
[Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Please read it carefully! Important/Known issues: 1. When using Chrome Web browser, you'll see some 'Failed to attach to Web browser' messages, but the RTMP downloading will work properly "32/64bit process mismatch" - Please make sure you have the 32bit version of Google Chrome installed on your system! |
