Mysterious "prehistoric" shark with 300 horrible teeth is caught by trawler ...

Scientists have discovered a dinosaur-era shark with 300 teeth and a snake’s head off the Portuguese coast.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The frilled shark was caught by a trawler during a research project on how to minimise unwanted catches during commercial fishing, according to Sic Noticias TV.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

While its peers, such as the Tyrannosaurus rex and triceratops, died out long ago, this shark, with its
frilled teeth and long, slim body still swims at great depths of at least 700 metres (2,300 feet).

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

According to the Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere, the captured shark measured 1.5 m in length
and was swimming off the Algarve coast. The rare species dates back 80 million years.

The world's first floating nation designed to 'liberate humanity from politicians' will appear in the Pacific Ocean by 2020

The world's first floating nation is set to appear in the Pacific Ocean off the island of Tahiti in 2020.
A handful of hotels, homes, offices, restaurants and more will be built in the next few years by the nonprofit Seasteading
Institute, which hopes to 'liberate humanity from politicians'.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The radical plans, bankrolled by PayPal founder Peter Thiel, could see the creation of an independent nation that will
float in international waters and operate within its own laws. In a new interview, Joe Quirk, president of the Seasteading
Institute, said he wants to see 'thousands' of rogue floating cities by 2050, each of them 'offering different ways of governance'.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

'Governments just don't get better,' Mr Quirk told the New York Times.
'They're stuck in previous centuries. That's because land incentives a violent monopoly to control it.'

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The first island is being funded by a coin offering, a new concept gaining popularity in Silicon Valley in which money is
'crowd sourced' by creating and selling a virtual currency. The non-profit hopes to raise around $60 million by 2020 to build a dozen buildings.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The structures will feature 'green roofs' covered with vegetation and construction will use local bamboo, coconut fibre,
wood and recycled metal and plastic.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

First revealed in January, the plans have been approved by the French Polynesian government, which is now creating a
special economic zone so the floating nation can operate under its own trade laws. [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig]

Proof of time travel? Painting from 1850 shows woman ‘absorbed in smartphone’...

The scene bears a striking resemblance to a teenager texting or looking at social
media while carelessly walking down the street but was actually painted in around 1850-60.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Painted by Austrian artist Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller, 'The Expected One' shows
a young man waiting on a countryside path holding a pinking flower while a girl
approaches with her attention gripped by a small rectangular object in her hands.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The time travel scenario was sparked on Twitter by retired local government officer
Peter Russell in response to a similar image being posted.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

He told Motherboard : “What strikes me most is how much a change in technology
has changed the interpretation of the painting, and in a way has leveraged its entire context.

“The big change is that in 1850 or 1860, every single viewer would have identified the item that the girl is absorbed in as a hymnal or prayer book.

On the flea market found the photo of the American bandit millions of dollars worth ...

A photo that was bought at a flea market for $10 shows Billy the Kid standing with the lawman who would
ultimately kill him, experts have concluded. The black and white image, taken in August 1880, shows the
notorious outlaw with a gang of men, one of whom is Sheriff Pat Garrett, Billy the Kid's former friend and
the man who gunned him down.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

It is only the fourth known photograph of Billy the Kid and is thought to be a trophy shot taken by Garrett and
his posse after they arrested him for murdering a sheriff. It is believed to be now worth millions of dollars.
The image could be the last known picture of Billy the Kid, who was born Henry McCarty. The other known
pictures of the outlaw were believed to have been taken in 1877, 1878 and 1879.

The photo of the Kid discovered in 2015 has since been estimated to be worth $5 million. [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig]

The prints of the hands of giants ...

During the excavation of the 3600-year-old palace in the once great city of Avaris, Egypt, a group of archaeologists
unearthed four pits. What is found in the pits? It’s hands. No bodies – just a bunch of dismembered hands. Most
of the hands are quite large, and some of them are simply huge, which most likely means that they were all cut off
from adult men, and perhaps in ancient Egypt it was full of giant.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

In fact, these large and very large hands are the first physical evidence of practice widely represented in ancient
Egyptian art. Soldiers chop off the right hands of their enemies and present them to their leaders, who solemnly throw
their hands into the pit, and then unceremoniously throw each soldier gold in return. Having mastered your right hand,
you symbolically stole the source of the strength of your enemy and literally took away 50 percent of his ability to defeat you.

This image was created about 400 years after the severed hands were piled into pits in Avaris.
It shows the severed hands of enemy soldiers, prepared for the transfer to Ramses III,
the Egyptian pharaoh, after a successful campaign. So it turns out that the soldiers were large and very large people, giants?

A good burglar treated the witnesses of the crime with sweets ...

Man converts fridge into fish tank to prank house guests ...

A Thai man converted his old refrigerator into a big fish tank to prank guests who
come over and open the fridge door. Amsawang Khanapoi, 39, shared a video showing
him opening the fridge at his Bangkok home, revealing the inside of the appliance
had been replaced with a fish tank.

Fish can be seen swimming by the blue light he installed inside the fridge. "It's the perfect
home for the fish. The fridge is big, deep and dark at night just like the wild," he said. "When
I have a guest I'll close the door and ask them to get a beer from the fridge. They open the
door and they're shocked. It's very funny."

Khanapoi stressed the fish are not food, despite the aesthetics of their new home.
"The fish are to keep as pets, they're for ornamental display. They're beautiful and wouldn't ever dream of eating them," he said.

Ooh la la! Paris opens its first ever NUDE restaurant... where diners are asked to their clothes at the door.

France is world renowned for its laid back and relaxed attitude, with the country playing host to dozens
of nudist beaches, campsites and pools. Yet now Paris has opened its first-ever naked restaurant where
diners can dig into their food while completely naked.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The aptly named O'Naturel restaurant is located in the French capital's 12th arrondissement, on Rue de Gravelle,
and had its grand opening this past Thursday. There is space at the restaurant for up to 40 diners, with meals starting at around €30.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Upon entrance, guests are asked to remove all their clothes and leave them in the restaurant's wardrobes.

Yet passersby on the street are not able to catch a glimpse of patrons at the eatery as the view from the

Mysterious underground fire ablaze for 59 years in southwest China city ...

Mysterious underground fire ablaze for 59 years in a district in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality recently
attracted media attention. This patch of land, covering some four square meters, is located in a place called Miao'erdong,
Dongmen Village in Changshou District, where seven or eight tongues of flames are burning all year round, rain or snow.
Local residents come here to boil water every morning and evening. They said water could boil up on the flames within five minutes.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

"Firewood used to be expensive in the past and sometimes we had to go to the western mountainous areas to carry back
bundles of firewood. But it was more convenient here. We came here with our cooking pots and queued to boil sweet
potatoes and pigweed," said Wang Mantang, a local villager. It is surprising that the flames cannot be extinguished.
Even if water is poured on them, they will become ignited again within three minutes. "They cannot be extinguished. If so,
how could there be burning flames? They are burning every minute and every day throughout the year," Wang said.

The fire started 59 years ago from a natural gas well that an oil exploitation team drilled back in 1958.
But the well was left unexplored because of scarce and scattered natural gas reserves.
A dearth of gas has since been emitting all these years and hence the fire keeps burning.
As the fire has not affected crops nearby, local authorities have left it as it is. Villagers would
circumvent the patch when passing by, and no accident concerned has ever been reported.

10-year-old boy leads police on high-speed chase ...

police released dashcam video of the incident.

Cleveland police said the boy took his mother's car as his sister was getting ready
to them to school and drove off. His mother tried to chase him down in another car,
but the boy kept going.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

"Oh my [expletive] god," the mother said during a 911 call, according to Cleveland.com.
"My son's going to kill himself before you guys get here."

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

Other drivers on the road noticed a minor was behind the wheel. "There looks to be
a child driving a silver Infinity with what looks like his mother almost chasing him down,"
a witness told police during a 911 call, according to Fox 8.

[Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig]

The child reached speeds of 96 mph, police said. The video shows the car driving erratically
on a highway. At one point, it almost goes directly into oncoming traffic. But police were able
to bump the car onto the shoulder, where they surrounded it to keep from going near other drivers.
Eventually, they were able to bump it again and it lightly crashed at slow speed into a police SUV and came to a stop.

The child was not injured in the incident. Police said when they apprehended him, he kicked and spat at them.
Police have not said if the boy will be charged for a crime.
This wasn't the first time the boy stole his parent's car. Earlier this month, he took his father's car out for a joyride, police said.

Town in Iceland paints 3D zebra crosswalk to slow down speeding cars ...

In the small fishing town of Ísafjörður, Iceland, an exciting development in road safety
has just popped up – almost literally. A new pedestrian crossing has been painted
that appears to be 3D by way of a cleverly-detailed optical illusion.

Not only does the innovative design give foot-travelers the feeling of walking on air, it
also gets the attention of drivers, who will be sure to slow down their speed once they
