To be perfectly honest, I had never heard of eMule until yesterday.   So I did a quick Debian repository search to see if there was a client.   There was nothing called eMule, but there was something called aMule.   Apparently aMule is based on eMule -- only without the spyware and ads.   But then, aMule is open source software and no one in the development community, not least of which, the Debian community, would allow such contrivances to propagate throughout the distribution.  So I access the eDonkey networks using aMule.

Based on the numbers that my aMule client provides, there are still millions of eMule users around the globe.   I just joined their ranks.
