with thanks to the Molvanian WWF for this footage and information.

All is not lost. Many of these wonderful creatures have been sighted in captivity and it is rumoured that when confined, the wilder members of the species attempt to regain their freedom, there are those of course who are spoiled rotten and fed cookies and cream instead of the natural diet of meat who become placid or lazy with no desire to escape, they have become tame and obedient household pets.

later on making use of the PointX streaming filter as an effect to prevent a second close up sighting. damn these game wardens. What we need here is a true nature loving cameraman, these erotic dudes just don't have a clue when it comes to wildlife.

Some great stuff from the sweetest kitty at ETV. I also love that song from Bily Idol/Generation X. Quite great job.

I think this deserves a HOT.

Lol. I know they exist at a place marked with an X, rumours say, that here might be on their migratory path. :-)

Re: a last positive sighting .....

@elmo: exactly. But as the Aliy cat is also a Felis felix molv. you should be fast to reclaim the cash reward bellerophon offered before shirtful does. It seems someone wasn't paying attention when he offered that reward ... ]:)

Re: a last positive sighting .....

@ HvB are you referring to the strays who sought their freedom some time ago, the only remaining survivor of this group is the Aliy cat ?

Re: a last positive sighting .....

@bellerophon: you should rewrite the rules: that rare species isn't that rare outside ( :) ) of it's natural surroundings. There have been reports of sightings (ebhfiohg , shirtful et all (1), elmo et all (2) ) when it is relocated to places where it is very welcome and feed with a special creme/wax diet by the scientists responsible for that relocation program. Unfortunately that experiment was started with a very limited number of individual organisms. Experiments with upgrading the genetic pool by at least temporarily relocating other individuals of the same species have been less successful as they showed the same hiding behaviour as the examples in their natural surroundings. Rumours are that the intervention of an independent but rivalry research group may have been a reason for that. So that experiment should be repeated without the intervention to provide reliable results. Another experiment which so far turned out quite successful is mixing that species with other examples of close relatives (mostly from the family of felis felix exsocbloc, but mixing it with an example of felis felix northafricanus showed also some positive results (3), experiments with the felis felix asiaticus where less convincing and should be repeated).
All in all a very interesting experiment. Unfortunately it’s sometimes a little bit hard to follow the development due to the limitations that were described by elmo at all in (2).
