Re: The girls page votes (and voters)

I thank you for your prompt and friendly reply, Tarl

As i wrote I do not pretend an answer on her future that belongs ONLY to her.

I just would have appreciate even a short info: she is not a common model: she was in the top class

anyway... thanks again

What is disturbing me (a lot) is that she has disappeared from the models ranking without any official comment on the forum: her last show was just 2 weeks ago.
We have been informed officially that models like ashley was removed but not Mashiara: ...

We have no information about Mashiaras leaving.
She said nothing in her last show and we assume that she's on holiday.
So we did what we do with every model who doesn't appear in a show for two weeks or more, we removed her on the models page.
If we would have any information about a leaving we would have posted a comment about her removing.

We did it the usual way but we cannot promise that she will come back. Not more and not less.

Re: The girls page votes (and voters)

From the different post in different threads it comes out that Mashiara has left etv. It's not my goal to find out if it is true, if it is for ever or just for the deserved stop. Also for Mashi it is something that is just up to her and also for her I wish a true good luck.

What is disturbing me (a lot) is that she has disappeared from the models ranking without any official comment on the forum: her last show was just 2 weeks ago.
We have been informed officially that models like ashley was removed but not Mashiara: sorry but we are speacking about one of the top 5 models in the last monthes. And suddenly disappeared. And no commet! Why? Could you please give an explanation of this lack of information?
Thanks

JB

bellerophon wrote:Today Amy overtakes Scarlet as the lstv voters' most popular model of 2010. She has now been top for 108 days to Scarlet's 107.

Of course, not a level playing field since S has had no chance to compete with Amy for several months.
Well I think you have just started World War III

brudgon wrote:why she is number 8 on the page voters? she have only 991 votes

The proportion of the votes is important.
E.g. Cleopatra has less points than Madlen but a better ranking because she isn't on the schedule since 14 days and so the proportion of the votes is deciding for her ranking.
The same for Kaleya.

This is already better explained somewhere in this thread. Just search for an understandable explanation. Smile

It is a way of doing to say what one wants with the statistics.
I am sure while taking other criteria, three divisions and two multiplications we can arrive at the result totaly opposite without that having more significances than the actual system.
For example Sabrina who does not make practically any more a show, which leaves in holiday a certain time, and which almost does not move of place in the ranking page, or with your system, Scarlet which has been absent for four months and which are found at the head.
It is completely absurd.

I hope that the translate is correct

Re: The girls page votes (and voters)

just a quick question:

I'm voting almost daily but has it any influence?!
I mean if the model is first then will she be more in nightshows or will she do better shows in the future?!
Or if the model (who was first but now she is only 4) will try to be better or will etv pick her out of the nightshows?!

Re: The girls page votes (and voters)

@ Mr Niceguy:
I can't, because Liveshow-tv doesn't show views per post.
Maybe an admin could, but what could we learn?

@Bellerphon:
Even if half of Gia views where negative, she still is the all time second :-)

Re: The girls page votes (and voters)

You could also make a ranking based on the views per posting. Somebody have a little time on their hands? Would you get about the same?

Re: The girls page votes (and voters)

I tried a different approach to measuring models popularity. I use the page view rate: The number of page views on a models thread, divided by the months the model has been active on ETV.
Example: Scarlet has been on the show for 14 months. A few days ago, she had 305357 views on her pages on the Models- and the Vids forums. So on average she generated 21361 views per month. I assume that views indicate a positive interest in the model.

If one ranks the models on the page view rate, the top 10 becomes: (between brackets, views/month)

1 Scarlet (21361)
2 Gia (18198)
3 Alexis ( 7435)
4 Amy ( 7034)
5 Regina ( 6751)
6 Clio ( 6098)
7 Mashiara ( 5201)
8 Jacqueline ( 4976)
9 Lin ( 4973)
10 Brona ( 4578)

Beware, these are all the views recorded by Liveshow-tv. So it's an all time ranking.
I skipped the models that were active for 3 months or less. New models tend to attract a lot of curiosity at first.
This system isn't fair to models with a long history on ETV because (I assume) nowadays Liveshow.tv is a more active site than in 2007.
Liveshow.tv records views since mid 2007, which I corrected for.
As far as I could establish, I corrected for inactive periods. But often inactive periods did generate a lot of extra posts when leaving, and again when returning.

Back to the list:
Nobody will be surprised that Scarlet is the all time champion.
Gia (7 in Models Rating) is a close second !
Jacqueline scores very well at 8, being 22 in the Models Rating. I must admit, much to my appreciation.
On the other hand, Sabrina only scores at position 19 (6 on Models Rating). Surprising, even if you take in account that she is active on ETV for nearly 4 years.

This is not a better system to monitor models popularity. First because fraud is too easy. And second, because I had to omit all views on threads like "ETV Hot Show" or "Scarlet & Mashiara". But it does give an indication off the accuracy of ranking systems.
And the (over)loud voice of those who are bashing Gia.

Re: The girls page votes (and voters)

bellerophon is famous for his memory, sure he can as easily reproduce the ranking of 2005 (not sure if there was a voting page at that time), 2006, 2007 and 2009 ...

Re: The girls page votes (and voters)

I guess by all measures it is a good means to inidciate how good the shows of late have been with the top 5 well over 5.000 points (in the course of the day) the old 10.000 mark has been shattered. Does it really matter who is nr1 or 5?

Re: The girls page votes (and voters)

I think we shouldn't make a scientific project out of this voting. It's pretty clear that this voting isn't objective, because the opinions of the members about the models aren't objective in the first place. Trying to change the rules won't make it any more objective. In any case, I'd advise against a stricter limitation of the votes, because the less votes get in, the less meaningful is the result, from a statistical point of view.

I suggest to leave the voting as is, and regard it as sort of a game.
