2024 THE CHAMPIONSHIPS - WIMBLEDON - DAY 14 (LAST) :

Gentlemen' s Singles : Carlos Alcaraz (3) won his 15th ATP tournament in career (4th Grand Slam and second consecutive in Wimbledon), defeating
Novak Djokovic (2) 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (4) after 2h 27'

In the first set, Alcaraz immediately broke Djokovic after a very long first game, maintaining the lead without problems until the fifth game, when he took another break and went 5-1, thus closing the set 6-2 after 41'; the second set almost completely mirrored the first, with the Spaniard's immediate break, but this time he made the second break in the seventh game, serving for the set and closing it with another 6-2 after 34'; the third set, in which the Serbian was good at saving 4 break-points in the third game, remained in balance until 4-4, when the Iberian broke again Djokovic and went to serve for the match at 5-4, moving ahead 40-0, but, just one point away from success, Alcaraz felt the pressure, losing five points in a row and putting back into the match the Serbian, who then went ahead 6-5, but the Spaniard was no longer distracted and the set ended with the tie-break, in which Alcaraz took a 3-1 lead, Djokovic was able to equalize at 3-3, but the Iberian went 5-3 and this time he managed to close the match at 7-4, becoming the sixth tennis player of the Open Era to win Roland Garros & Wimbledon in a row after Laver, Borg, Nadal, Federer and Djokovic, furthermore, with 2 Wimbledon titles before turning 22, Alcaraz equals Borg and remains only behind Becker, who won his 3 Wimbledon before turning 22, equaling the 4 Slam titles of Becker himself, Borg and Wilander, while Djokovic failed to catch Roger Federer with 8 Wimbledon won.

2024 THE CHAMPIONSHIPS - WIMBLEDON - DAY 13 :
Results Finals :

Ladies' Singles : Barbora Krejcikova (31) won her 8th WTA tournament in career (second Grand Slam and first on grass), defeating
Jasmine Paolini (7) 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 after 1h 56'

In the first set, the Czech started better, immediately breaking the Italian and taking a 2-0 lead, Paolini was good at saving 2 break-points in the third game, but then she lost the serve again in the fifth, with the Krejcikova who then went 5-1, closing the set 6-2 after 35'; in the second set, Paolini started off strongly, breaking the Czech for the first time in the match in the second game and taking a 3-0 lead, then keeping the advantage until 5-2, when the Tuscan returned the 6-2 to her opponent, thus equalizing the sets count after 36'; the third and decisive set was in balance until 3-3, then, in the seventh game, a double fault by the Italian gave the break to Krejcikova, who maintained it until the final 6-4, closing at third match point after having saved 2 break-points, winning her second career Slam in singles (at the "Championships" she already won two titles in doubles, in 2018 and in 2021) after Roland Garros 2021 and succeeding to her compatriot Marketa Vondrousova, eliminated in the first round this year, while Paolini, despite the regret for the second Slam Final lost in a row, can still smile, since from next Monday she will reach her new "best ranking" of No. 5 in the world (equaling her friend and doubles partner Sara Errani), which poses a solid candidacy for her historic participation in the WTA Finals at the end of the year.
