Men' s Singles : Novak Djokovic (3) won his 94th ATP tournament in career (third French Open and 23rd Grand Slam), defeating
Casper Ruud (4) 7-6 (1), 6-3, 7-5 after 3h 13'

The Norwegian started better, breaking the Serbian in the second game and maintaining the advantage until the seventh game, when Nole reacted and broke him back, then the two players kept their respective serves and the set was decided by the tie-break, in which Djokovic immediately went 3-0, Ruud shortened to 1-3, but then he lost 4 points in a row and the Serbian could close 7-1 a 1h 21' long set; the second set saw Djokovic immediately go ahead 3-0 with a break in the second game, maintaining the advantage without worries until 5-2, when Ruud managed to save 2 consecutive set-points, but then Nole kept his serve at 0, closing the set in the following game with the score of 6-3 in 43', taking the lead by two sets; third set was balanced until 5-5, when Djokovic broke Ruud at 0 and then closed the match in the following game at the second match-point, setting a new men’s record for the most Grand Slam titles with his 23rd win (one more than Rafael Nadal) and becoming, with 36 years and 20 days, the oldest winner in the history of the French Open, plus the first man in history to win each Major at least three times, also celebrating the return to N° 1 in the ATP ranking from tomorrow, while Ruud lost his fifth match out of 5 against Djokovic (without ever winning a single set ) and his third Slam Final, the second in a row at Roland Garros after last year's against Nadal.

Women' s Singles : Iga Swiatek (1) won her 14th WTA tournament in career (fourth Grand Slam and third, second consecutive, Roland Garros), defeating
Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 after 2h 46'

The world' s N° 1, who played her third Final in Paris in the last 4 years, started better, breaking her opponent already in the second game, maintaining the advantage until the seventh game and then closing the partial 6-2 after 43' with another break, this time at 0; in the second set, it was once again Swiatek who immediately took off, with a break in the second game, but this time the Czech player reacted, recovering the disadvantage in the fifth game and going 3-3, then, on 4-4, Swiatek was broken with a double fault, Muchova did not take advantage of it, failing to close the set, but then the Polish player lost her serve again on 5-5 and this time the Czech managed to close the set 7-5 at the third set -point after 1h 07'; the match was then decided in the third set, in which the world' s N° 1 suffered the third consecutive break, going down 0-2, she managed to get back into the match in the fourth game, impacting on 2-2, but then, in the seventh game, the Czech broke her once more, failing again, however, to confirm the break, so Swiatek, after saving a dangerous break-point, which would have sent her opponent to serve for the match, went 5-4, managing, in the next game, to close the match at first match-point thanks to a double fault by the Czech, becoming the youngest to win so many Grand Slams since Serena Williams and the first since Justine Henin to win for two years in a row in Paris, while Muchova (fourth finalist with the lowest ranking in the history of the French Open, being N° 43 WTA) can console with the first Final in a Major in her career, which will allow her to obtain, from Monday, her "best ranking" at N° 16 WTA, improving that of N° 19, signed in May two years ago.
