Results Finals : Men' s Singles : Novak Djokovic (1) def. Andy Murray (6) 7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-0 in 3h 39' In a final not so spectacular and quite nervous, the world' s N° 1 started better, with a 4-1 advantage in first set, but Murray managed to break him back on 4-2, Djokovic took the chance to serve for the set on 5-3, but was broken again and in the tie-break Nole closed 7-5, then in second set Murray went 2-0, Nole made 4 consecutive games, but was again broken and this time the tie-break was dominated by the Scottish, who went 6-2 and closed 7-4; the third set was decisive for the match, since Murray went 2-0, but Nole was able to go 4-3 and made the deciding break the successive game, with Murray committing a double fault, closing 6-3; after that the Scottish lost his motivations and the fourth set was dominated by the Serbian; for Djokovic this was the 8th Grand Slam title, the fifth in Australia, for Murray is the fourth final lost in the first Slam of the season, the third against Nole Mixed Doubles : M. Results Finals : Women' s Singles : Serena Williams (1) def. Maria Sharapova (2) 6-3, 7-6 (5) in 1h 39' In a very exciting final the world' s N° 1 started better, breaking Sharapova in the first game, then, on 3-2 30-30, the match was suspended for 12 minutes due to rain and the mobile roof of the Rod Laver Arena was closed : this stop was bad for the Russian, who went down 5-2, she reacted, breaking Serena while she was serving for the first set, but the American didn' t care and closed 6-3; then Sharapova immediately saved two consecutive break-points in the second game of second set and other two on 2-3, Serena saved one break point on 3-3 and, on 5-4 she had a Championship point, well saved by Sharapova with a forehand right on the line, so the set had to be decided by the tie-break, in which the Russian went 1-0 with a mini-break, but then Serena scored 4 consecutive points, Maria replied with 2 consecutive points, but Williams was able to go 6-4 and close the match 7-5 with her 18th ace ! For Serena this has been the 65th WTA title, 19th Grand Slam and 6th Australian Open (in 6 finals) Men' s Doubles : S. Bolelli / F. Fognini def. P.H. Herbert / N.
