Hi, Scottishbloke. Hope you are well. Liverpool were never in any doubt and were always in control. They were totally dominant and now they face Barca in the semi-final. What a match that could turn out to be as they are two of the most attacking sides in the world. This is one of those matches in which I have mixed emotions and loyalties as I love both teams. so I guess whoever wins I will be happy, but sad for the loser.

Man City v Tottenham. What a game of football for the neutrals. It had 4 goals scored within the opening 10 minutes. End to end action and controversial VAR decisions. This had to be the best game of the tournament so far. No team deserved to be eliminated tonight as they were both a credit to the beautiful game with football being played exactly like it should be. 2 teams at it from the word go. I didn't see the Liverpool game so perhaps Ralkin123 or somebody else could fill us all in on the other game seeing as it's his team but by all accounts it looks like it was a stroll in the park for Liverpool.

For sure Ajax deserved to qualify for Semifinals, they litterally crushed Juventus in both matches, Juventus has lost 4 of 10 matches in this edition and they eliminated Atletico de Madrid only thanks to an extra-terrestrial called Cristiano Ronaldo, but he can' t win all the matches alone, so Juventus need younger players and possibly a new coach with a better vision of modern football, I wish good luck to the four teams that will compete for the cup.

Very good summing up there Rallkin123. Last night I started to watch the Barcelona v Man Utd game and early in the game Man Utd did have a few chances but lacked any killer strikers and ultimately as soon as Messi banged in the opening goal for Barcelona there was little doubt as to the outcome of this game, his 2nd goal was rather fortunate though as the keeper probably should have saved it but it was just one of these nights and in truth Barcelona played Man Utd off the pitch and the gulf was as big between the 2 sides that I have ever seen.
I then switched over to watch the Juventus v Ajax game and from what I seen I thought Ajax were outstanding and probably should have won by more. Juventus did not look comfortable at all with the oppositions direct and very attack minded brand of football. In Serie A the pace is a lot more methodical and slow paced but Ajax allowed Juventus little time on the ball and also forced them to play a direct style of football which was clearly out of their comfort zone. Ajax reminded me of what Aberdeen and Dundee United used to do with Europes finest in the 1980's and it was an approach that paid off ![]() Tonight's game between Man City and Tottenham looks very interesting. It will be a typical end to end game I would imagine which I'm really looking forward to. I think Liverpool have probably done enough and should see off Porto but I say that with caution after seeing what Ajax did to Juventus last night. |
