It has to be said it's been a disastrous qualification campaign for the Netherlands. This is the first time the Dutch have failed to qualify for a major tournament since the 2002 World Cup. In last years World Cup they finished overall in 3rd place. An inquest will no doubt be held as to how such a talented team failed so miserably. As usual player unrest and spats behind the scenes has no doubt played a major part in all of this this. What a shame and I'd imagine it must be something of a national embarrassment

All the groups are now complete. Tonight's qualifiers were Croatia (second in Group H) and Turkey (best third-placed team)
Qualifiers so far: France (hosts), Czech Republic, Iceland, Turkey, Belgium, Wales, Spain, Slovakia, Germany, Poland, England, Switzerland, Northern Ireland, Romania, Austria, Russia, Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Albania 3rd-placed teams to contest the play-offs: Bosnia-Hercegovina, Ukraine, Ireland, Slovenia, Hungary, Sweden, Norway, Denmark. The play-off draw will be on Sunday, with the two-legged matches to be played 12-17 November. |

Today's qualifiers: Romania, Albania, Germany and Poland. Very happy to see Poland qualified, less so with the Albanians, who did it mainly thanks to that guy who flew the drone onto the pitch in Serbia
