Alternatives from Argentina, Marcelo Bielsa (released from Athletic Bilbao) or Gerardo "Tata" Martino. Impossible Andrè Villas Boas (signed to Tottenham Hotspur). Pepe Reina is going to be new SSC Napoli goalkeeper, since Julio Cesar refused SSC Napoli contract. Reina will come from Liverpool on loan. |

Tito Vilanova is stepping down as Barcelona's coach following a recurrence of throat cancer, just a month before Lionel Messi and his teammates begin the defense of their Spanish league title.
Club president Sandro Rosell told a hurriedly called news conference at Barcelona's training facility on Friday that Vilanova will be unable to stay on as coach while he gets treatment. Rosell said that a new head coach would be named next week and that Barcelona was canceling its first friendly of the preseason, scheduled to be played in Poland on Saturday against Lechia Gdansk. Good bye "Traut,the Kraut"!
Perhaps is "the man with the neck leaning" one of the most famous sons of my hometown... Bernhard Carl "Bert" Trautmann  ...in any case, he is for me the proof that sport can overcome political differences. As a German soldier and prisoner of war only a few years after World War 2 to become England's Footballer of the Year, is for me one of the most beautiful signs of reconciliation! some will remember him because he stayed in England after some years in a prisoer-of-war camp and made more than 500 matches for Man City as the goalkeeper. he's the german goalie who won the FA Cup in 1956 for City although he played at the end of the match with a broken neck. he was a quite popular german in England in the 50's and so he was one of a very few. Tribunal Arbitral du Sport (TAS) in Lausanne has suspended Fenerbahce ban.
FENERBAHÇE SK & BESIKTAS JK V. UEFA Lausanne, 17 July 2013 - The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has registered today an appeal filed by Fenerbahçe SK and a request for provisional measures filed by Besiktas JK against UEFA in relation to the decisions taken by the UEFA Appeal Body on 10 and 11 July 2013, pursuant to which Fenerbahçe SK was excluded from participating in the next two UEFA club competitions it qualifies for, including the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League, and Besiktas JK was declared ineligible to participate in the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League. Together with its appeal, Fenerbahçe SK filed a request for a stay of the challenged decision. |

Monaco FC is going to rejoin the dynamic duo from Porto, after signing Redamel Falcao, brazilian striker Hulk is going to sign. He currently plays in Zenit St. Petersburg but he argued with italian coach Luciano Spalletti.
If Hulk will move to Monaco, italo-argentinian striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo (who will leave AS Roma for sure) will sign Zenit. Paris Saint Germain has also signed left back defender Lucas Digne from FC Lille (15 millions), it is just a matter of time for Marcos Aoás Corrêa "Marquinhos" from AS Roma (35 millions). I wonder if UEFA Chairman Michel Platini will do domething about "Financial Fair Play" issue, since clubs most involved are just french ones. Turkish clubs Besiktas and Fenerbahce (both from Istanbul) have been banned from UEFA competitions. |
