Such a good game yesterday - Portugal 3 Spain 3 - worthy of being a final,I would have been happy to see extra-time in that match.
Looking forward to seeing the other major teams facing each other. In the meantime we have to see some of the mediocre smaller nations and their very average play - to be honest, this tournament is a bit bloated with lesser teams. When you consider that as of right now, 20 out of the 32 best placed teams in the FIFA rankings are from Europe, but only 14 European teams are allowed to take part in the World Cup. There are two arguments - football is a world game and it needs to be spread far and wide so that all kinds of people can come together to play this great game. Or some might say the World Cup finals should come down to the very best teams that top the FIFA rankings in order to make an impressive spectacle. |

Wow I forgot Italy Didn't qualify - I took it for granted they were there. How can that happen? Some of the best defenders in the world with bags of experience. Also,I thought the Italian players I watched in the Champions League for Juve' & Roma looked excellent.

I hope Argentina wins the World Cup because of the greatest player on the planet Messi and it would be a fitting tribute to the great man. If not them, then hopefully Spain or Italy, 2 countries for which I have a great love for and their people.
