Mad Max: Fury Road ( 2015 )
Director: George Miller  Writers: George Miller, Brendan McCarthy, Nick Lathouris Stars: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Hugh Keays-Byrne The story is almost zero in the movie but visually so good and strong the movie that the complicated story with unexpected twists is not missed for me. And it was a bit surprise for me that basically the main character is not Max but Furiosa ( Charlize Theron ). She is a strong female character in a really masculine movie and she is basically not a victim but the true engine   of the whole movie. There are some "flat" moments in the movie but not so many. If you like the spectacular movies with grandiose scenes you will like this and if you have possibilities you should give a try for this in a cinema. This movie is really a well made movie. My rating is 9 / 10

The Admiral - Roaring Currents aka Myeong-ryang ( 2014 )
The Admiral Yi Sun-sin and his 12 battleships oppose the nemy's fleet, which consist more than 300 Japenese ship. The film is based on a real-life event, the 1597 Battle of Myeongryang during the Japanese invasion of Korea (1592-1598). In the role of the genial admiral is Min-sik Choi who was in the original Oldboy ( 2003 ) .My impression about this movie is a bit mixed. This movie is 2 hours long, and despite the fact that the first hour is interesting ( ,especially if someone read the book The Art of WAR from Sun Tzu, ) i found this part of the movie too slow ( some parts of the first hour is almost boring for me  ).The second hour is completely different, it fills almost the entire part of the second hour a big naval battle What to say, the second hour passed much more quickly as the first  .7,5 / 10 |
