Quite strange... Oron always been fast (at least over 150 Kb/s) when I use it to download as a free user... the only annoying limit (unless you use jdownloader or similar) is the waiting time between free downloads.

Re: Your preferred hosting service

Well there seems to be a lot of hosting servers around.... I cant say who's the best but I tottaly disagree with rs use. If you dont own an rs account you are not able to download anything more than 60-70 mb (it takes hours). Mediafire seems to be good for free...

Tarl_Cabot wrote:my upload with ~DSL 3000 is ~ 45 kByte/s.
that means ~160 Mb/h.

maybe ok but neither really ok nor a pleasure.
With my DSL2000 I only have about half of that uplad Angry, so currently no matter which file host I use it's faster than my DSL line, and RS is sufficient reliable and provides a good administation software.
But in a few weeks I'm supposed to get 50/2.5MBit by TV-cable Smile maybe then I have to reconsider Big Grin

From my point of view (not premium user) 30kb/s rapidshare < over 100kb/s depositfiles.
But be warned, files organization and catalogues structure sucks (no subfolders) + files are stored 90 days since the last download.

i'm happy for this my new choice....for me is not important files organization....subfolders etc etc....the important for me is to upload for share hereBig Grin
...and i see depositfiles till now works very very wellThumb upThumb up

Rattlemood wrote:DSL 3000 is ok. Your provider has to give you at least 1500 kb/s constantly (by law).

Now, it makes a difference when you download from rapidshare with just 100 kb/s as a free user or you can dl with 500-1000 kb/s.

Both bandwidths you can easily manage with your DSL 3000!

kBit looks fine but while down- or uploading you see the kByte value which means that 3.000 kBit looks like 375 kByte.
and with DSL 3000 is no upload at no hoster easily or fun.

my upload with ~DSL 3000 is ~ 45 kByte/s.
that means ~160 Mb/h.

maybe ok but neither really ok nor a pleasure.

Re: Your preferred hosting service

I like or prefer ul.to and shareonline.biz but i only have DSL 3000 and the upload is a pain.

But for dl they are good and fast, even for free users

Re: Your preferred hosting service

Another good point for DF compared to RSis they do offer download resume to free users; I just gave up trying to download files over 100MB from RS...
