[hidden link - please register] and [hidden link - please register] seem to be the most popular at present. But things seem to change every week

5pm and Quiquems has already broken the 30gig limit. I don't know when the daily limit restarts so it's possible that was reached in only a few hours.

We need to think about alternatives to RS.
I know there's another thread on this already, but actually I think we need to have some sort of consensus from the main video contributors on this forum to try and agree on one or two other hosting providers. This will help with people being able to download our content without having to have accounts all over the place. I'm also thinking whether there's benefit (with reasonable costs) to having our own - they say cloud is cheap, so I'm going to check into whether that's a true statement... |

It seems whether a premium account holder or free account user it is not safe from RS, i do think all who use them whether you post on this site or not to expect your account to vanish at any time regardless of what you have uploaded to it. I still have my account open but with 2 major up-loaders in quiquems and Mauro having theres marked as illegal it as made me realise its time to STOP using them as my main host! And i recommend others do the same.
Sadly RS will either ignore your emails or try to baffle you with their idea of whats copyright in their view and i just can't be bothered trying to prove my innocence to a company that as marked you as guilty before checking or even contacting you about your account, i was lucky as i got premium for free but, no even free is not worth the time in some cases PS. Thank you to Mauro and quiquems for all the work you have uploaded to date and hope it does not kill your spirits, it seems were ending the year how we started it with MU |

with this new idea the RS links won't be the links that are posted. at the moment I don't see any other good filehoster. some are popular and some have some advantages but every single other OCH has at least one big handicap. and that's the reason why I won't pay money for another Premium at the next filehoster which will be closed or starts some stupid ideas. so I'll probably upload my files to RS, move the files by remote to basic memberships at other OCHs and post these links. so I can offer more links at different hosts for the same file and also a reup the files easily. of course is this idea based on some years RS premium membership left and so all files are save for a certain time. and if anyone is still interested in RS links these could be shared by PM.

Effectively these new bandwidth limits will be a very big nail in the coffin for RS, and they'll loose paying customers. That said, I'd guess that's the intent - to help with any concept or external view that they're not doing their bit to help on-line piracy.
Now as a Pro account holder who posts content from babe shows/channels, all of which is by their tacit agreement in this and other forums, it means far too many people will be disappointed. You only have to have a mildly popular file, and your bandwidth allowance for anyone other than yourself or your contacts will disappear very very quickly. It's common to post 300Mb files. With the new cap, that means 100 happy downloaders, everyone else not so happy, and a bun-fight for the following 24 hours to try and get in before bandwidth allowance is used up again. |

This means massive leaving from RS faster than light.
I have a RS account, but it would be quite hard to a videomaker adding thousand accounts. And I suppose there would be for sure a limitation about that too. |

Seems I need to find another file host
[hidden link - please register] Base line: -Starting from Nov. 27th the daily traffic limit for files which are uploaded from free users will be 1GB, for paying customers 30GB. This refers to the download traffic of the complete account of the concerning uploader, not for the downloader. So if 10 people have downloaded a 100MB video from my account nobody else will be able to download any of my videos that day. There's a possibility to give access to own contacts, but for files I publish here that's not feasible, I'll be busy for days with adding contacts, and not everyone wants to create an RS account and ask me to add him just to download some videos Any suggestions for an acceptable file hosts which offer a file handling software like the RS-Manager? Regards Joker |
