Mega - Kim Dotcom's new baby

Kim Dotcom has announced his new filehoster is about ready to be launched.

Kim Dotcom, who is propably not going to be charged for his Megaupload-project due to formal mistakes, has said his new "Mega" will be online
as of 20th January 2013. He is quoted: "I´m ordering server-space, lots of server space."
To prevent any legal problems, the new service will encrypt the content when uploading, so the hoster himself cannot know or check what is
uploaded.
I personally hope the new Mega will work as good as the old one and you will find my files there, I guess. Smile

Good luck, Kim Thumb up

During a conference in London he said (via Skype) that his 10 million $ assets have
been eroded by his defence costs.

He had sepeated from his wife a while ago, who now owns all their shares in MEGA,
so I would consider this a move to protect the rest of the fortune in case he will be
convicted in the US.

Quote:
"It's hard to keep a low profile when you have number plates with 'GOD' and 'STONED' on them.
Also, I’m German, and Hollywood loves German Bond villains."

Re: Mega - Kim Dotcom's new baby

Now, after one year with MEGA, its time for a resumee and I can say I am totally satisfied.
All the files that I have uploaded as a free, unregistered user are still up and running, even those
of which I have not posted a link, so that they can never have been downloaded.

Being a unregistered user has its flaws. Once you delete your cookies or change your computer,
you lose control over your account, even though the files still remain online.
On the other hand, you get a completely new account, with a fresh 30gb of space.

The same thing happens, if you open a „private window“ with Firefox: you get a fresh account.
Theoretically, you could open a new account for EVERY user you create on your computer using the private window-option,
with full control over each account and 30gigs each.

I want to add that I found up- and downloads always very comfortable, with no fuzz like annoying captchas or endless waiting time
before or between downloads, plus the speed maxed out every connection I have ever used (though I have never used a really fast one Confused).

Well done so far, Kim ! Thumb up

touche Confused Sad

but putlocker would be only 1 of 4 OCHs and thus it would be a help for the first days after posting and RS would be the long time link.

I know some browser that are easier to use and offer a better service.
You propably mean hoster, not browser, right?
My question in this case: which ones? Cool ...

well, actually I'm neither a fan of Google Chrome nor of Mega.

the reasons (for against Mega) are still the same as writen below:
- no chance to edit the password
- no chance to delete the account
- the needed use of Google Chrome
- the search machines
- no successful download from Mega so far for me (I must confess that I've never tried it again after the 3 attempts without success)

further I'd add these points:
- the 50 GB for a free account wouldn't be enough for posting complete shows
- I'm personally pissed on because of no chance to sign in with my MU datas although I had 1 year Premium left @MU
- Kim is always a Thumb down

so I'll stay at RS as the main OCH and will usually offer an additional RapidGator link (the easiest remote upload from RS) and will probably add links @ [hidden link - please register] and [hidden link - please register], too.
these are the OCHs I'm searching for while searching for vids. both offer parallel downloads with full speed also for free user. Zippyshare asks for a captcha and allowes files up to 200 Mb and thus is the reason for the second place only. my personal winner is putlocker with a waiting time of 1 second and no limits on sharing and uploading.
Mediafire is out after the last experience.

My question in this case: which ones? Cool ...because there are good news from the MEGA front:

They offer an addon to achieve full download functionality for Firefox. Tried it yesterday and works perfectly. Thumb up

For me, up- and download work good enough to max out my connection-speed, I have an account and full control over it
even though I didnt even sign up, downloads seem to work with the three major browsers...ok, the time has come for me
to upload all my stuff ( which isn´t so much ) to MEGA from now on.

I am not really bothered by this encoding/search engine issue because I have neither real important nor copyrighted content to share.

Call me naive, but I believe MEGA will be a safe and comfortable place for my crapola.

Thumb up from me, Kim

alex wrote:don't know why 'mega.co.nz' wants the usage of chrome... Thumb down

because of the coding which isn't supported by every browser.

I think the question should be:
don't know why everyone wants the usage of Mega... Thumb down

I know some browser that are easier to use and offer a better service.
