Hi Guys,
is anyone having problems recording sudio66tv streams via rmtpdump as non of the channels will record for me.

Sadly the redlightcentral and studio66tv streams were banned in my country. However, the rampant.tv streams for both channels still work. Can someone kindly tell me the rtmp codes for redlightcentral and studio66tv streams on rampant.tv?

Hello,
let us take a closer look and compare both videos and some of the most important parameters! First the original (basically a flv-video in quite a good quality for a webstream): - Resolution 720x404 - constant videobitrate of 800Kbps - constant audiobitrate of 64Kbps - constant framerate of 25fps (Important!) The second video shows completely different parameters because VLC has transcoded/converted the video: - Resolution 720x416 - constant videobitrate of 499Kbps - variable audiobitrate - variable framerate (15-25fps) You should avoid to use variable audiobitrates and more important - variable framerates because you can run into a lot of compatibility-issues with them and not only plenty of hardware-players have problems with it. I guess even the flash-video by itself will be more compatible than the strange output VLC has created here. Additional to that VLC has also changed the resolution and lowered the bitrate significantly. All that in realtime, which most likely means that you have lost at least some of the quality of the original file. The framerate determines how many consecutive frames/images are shown per second in a video. +/- 25 frames are necessary for a smooth continues motion. Lowering it to 15 or 20 frames will make the motion and the playback "jerky" and that's mostly very noticeable. Imho 25 frames should be the minimum... My recommendation: Don't change the framerate, use the framerate the source-material already has and you'll get the best results. One exception is when you have to deal with interlaced material (TV-recordings, webstreams are 98% progressiv material), then deinterlacing at a double framerate can be considered because it can offer some improvement to conventional deinterlacing. Imho it's mostly not even necessary to encode webstream-recordings again. Take the flash-video as it is and put it in a mkv or mp4-container to increase compatibility. FFmpeg or Avidemux for example can do this job well. If it's necessary to encode the files again (for even a higher compatibility), then I would use a better tool than VLC... Btw: Here are some good quality x264-settings for you: [hidden link - please register] (based on the slower-preset) I think the transcode-option is enabled by default in VLC. Disable it and select "Raw" and then VLC should leave your videos "untouched" and you'll keep 100% of the quality. You'll get a file named something.dump, rename it and that should be it - your recordings should be saved without any quality-loss and more important - no weird encoding-parameters... |

Yesterday I tried to record with rtmpdump and it works great.
Big thanks for switchblade123 and Dackel0401  . Then I tried to recording with rtmpdump + vlc. I mean I used the VLC's recording function.Here is the code from the bat file: rtmpdump -r "rtmp://178.33.126.213/iptv_cellcast_24/" -W "http://iptv.firestormmedia.tv/flash/player/player.swf?&type=133&affid=1738889&channelName=Babestation%20Unleashed&ccApp=0&channelChanger=0" -p "http://api.firestormmedia.tv/iptv/iframes/player/?type=133&affid=17" --live -y "livestream1" --quiet | "VLC Install directory\vlc.exe" - It looks like the two files have the same quality but they are in two different file formats, and some values are interesting for mp4. Just because this is a bit more confortable for me than I simply use the rtmpdump  .

Hope it´s ok to post a reply, anyway....the easiest way (according to me) is to use fraps.
Just download the software, clock on the "movie"-tab. Choose wich folder u want to use as recording-destination. Choose video capture-key (the key you press when you want to start&stop the recording) Choose the fps you want to record in, choose 25 or 30fps if dont have a poverful computer. But if you got a core i5 or core i7-cpu you can choose 120fps like I do. Choose Full-size or Half-size (depending on computer) Untick the (split movie every 4 gb) These are my settings: [hidden link - please register] EDIT: And if you want to edit the clip afterwards I recommend Sony Vegas 7, just drag the file into vegas & edit

hi its me again..
did someone know the RTMP adresses from the Red Light Central Streams? Yesterday ive wanted to watch em on my android without the interruption but i didnt find the rtmp adress to put it in the RTMP APP .. would be nice if someone can post the RTMP Link and didnt someone know how to capture streams on an android? regards |

 Just dropping in again to let you guys know about another sniffer out there that works in win8 64. It's called wireshark and there are videos on you-tube showing how to use it to capture rtmp streams. It works as well. (Its the only sniffer I've gotten to work on my machine in...forever) Using the info posted in this thread and the rtmp tuts along with wireshark, I have been successful in my very first attempt at capturing a stream... hey guys its me again... with another freaky question about RTMPDUMP
so on my Desktop PC i dont have any problems with RTMPDUMP but when it comes to my android i dont know how to do and what to do... i found a link via google.. you can find it too when you write RTMPDUMP Android can someone make a quick tutorial how to record a stream on my android? ive readen the readme but i dont understand anything of it ^^ would really appreciate it :/ thank you guys

Hi guys, I thought I'd drop in and add a little something to all this, seeing as I've used this info meself.
It's just the way I use these commands in a batch file and how I create unique filenames with that batch file so that you don't have to worry about overwriting the good clips. Here's my BS24 one that I made from the info in the previous post, the bits where you can edit to suite yourself/the stream you're recording should be in bold.
