Assembly of MP3s

Hello.

I need some help in edditing and assembling MP3s. My problems starts already in the choice of the right programm so I would be very thankful for a tip what freeware I should use (language english or even better german). I will "try and error" the programm and ask you later again about the right use ;-)

By the way I would be very happy about some information regarding the crossfade of vids using virtualdubor a comment like "no virtualdub, use adobe premiere or an ulead program".

Would be glad about an answer anf sorry if the answers are already posted in the forum.

Audacity was my first choice but needs a plug-in so I decided to ask first. Now I will try (and error) this programm.

I must confess that I (regarding the video editing) thought about Movie Maker and even started it once (the first and last try). I will try one of The usual suspects.

for cross fade edit with video, as far as I know Virtualdub is an editor and will need an extra tool.
