(ASF\WMV files) Had a bit of time so decided to write a little guide for capturing and editing RedlipsTV asf/wmv files. (This wont work with password protected or encrypted) You will need the following programs before you can proceed. VLC to capture and play file. ASFBin to index and basic edit file. First make sure the stream is present, then using vlc open the network stream dialogue and enter the stream web address in the HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS field, then below in the advanced area select stream/save then click on settings, Now to view the file whilst recording select play locally, next select file and enter a file name plus file extention (ASF\WMV) using browse to set a location for the recording. Encapsulation Method should be set to asf. ***If the stream stops or breaks, you will have to restart VLC.*** If the stream captured is prerecorded, then it should already be indexed which allows the file to be edited by a video editor. If it was a live recordering then the file possibly wont be indexed and cannot be opened by video editors, then use Asfbin to index the file. I hope this is of some help Shirtfull. |
