Why girls 'come back'

An interesting reply in another topic inspired me to start this one.

Who has come back ? Well, from memory, Lana (before as Samantha),Cleo, Leonie (1 or 2 shows), Laura (the same), Kiara, Zita, Madlen, Selena (I did not see this), Adora (1 or 2 as well) and, of course, Alexa.

But the real question is, did any of these actually leave in the first place ? You can view the rota at ETV as an agency and the girls work when it suits their circumstances.

Some, I fear, will not return whatever has been said in commentary. One could say Hatched, Matched or Despatched.

In Alexa's case Kaleya told us "Alexa is on diet and doing some heavy workout and doesn't want to be on the screen during that time". I wouldn't count the comebacks for just one or two shows (remember Priscillas Guest appearence???).

I also think that most (all???) of them have another job. And it is pretty clear that a lot of them are/were students (Kaleya was at least until last year, see the website of the "theater group") or models (to name a few I know: Melissa (@DB you know the agency???), Helena (she is also a student, a webdesigner and is changing her homepages/model agencys/myspace profiles faster than others change their underwear ...)).

And to answer the original question: money.

About breaks and vacation, it's almost certain that all models have another job, which is almost always their principal job, even for models 7 days a week on screen (for example Tyra, Sabrina, Nikita, Amber, Aliyah).

For example, we all know Megita is an english teacher, or Aliyah is a personal trainer (maybe Jenifer too) or former model Julia is an actress, Nikita (and her sister Eliza) is a traditional folk singer (and I remember Alice is a singer and a musician too), Kia is a photo-model (the same as Priscilla and I think Amber, Sabrina & Tyra are too), Dorian was a tattoo-piercing shop owner, and those models with TV know-how (Jaya, Kaleya, Merry, and some others) are working at ETV as director or camerawoman (Kia herself was often a camerawoman), and finally the youngest are still students (Alex for example). Some of them has the hardest job for a woman too, wife and mother.

And this is the same for moderators and directors too (Ahat & Gin for example).

I doubt that some models take or took an "elongated vacation". I suppose that they do other jobs in the meantime because they need money for rent, food, car etc.to survive.

So "elongated vacation" is anyone's guess or did somebody see the girls e.g. at the beach?

I think they will come back to ETV because they'll earn there more money than elsewhere.

P.S. Safo and Sunny both sort of drift in out, so they never really leave just go on elongated vacation.

I do not recall Desita but Jerry herself did 'leave' and 'came back' for a short time.

Again, Dorian was off-screen for many, many months.

Yet it's sometimes hard to know if they 'leave'. My darling Melisa was off screen for 4 or 5 weeks in April 2006 and then 'came back' only to 'leave' again early this year.

But you never know what little surprises are around the corner.

I think I heard from Jerry that Desita is also a returnee, but  I never saw Lana as Samantha or Cleo first time round, so perhaps DB remembers.

@outside, I think after the do from 16.10.07 that Dorian has so to speak - retired from public life and TV stardom.

For example, Lana announced she was going to take a 2/3 months break, and then she came back.

Laura has never been a full-time model, she maximum had one or two shows a week.

Let's see what will happen with girls like Larissa, Tamara, Dorian and Kia.
