Hello, you're right, BB, this forum is  more and more becoming a stage for esoteric British humor and sophisticated topics whose TV- and movie actors are only known to British native-speakers.

It is a matter of politeness to write in a way that most of the readers can understand the topic without a dictionary.

But I suppose that will never happen.
