The Late Show 24/25 August - Mutiny in the Forest

It was just before 10 o’clock in the evening on Monday 24th August. It was raining outside and Daddy Bear had had a difficult day at work and was looking forward to putting his feet up in front of the TV and watching his favourite presenter Bear Grylls doing a show from the Bearing Sea.

“OK, girls”, he said (for he had four girl bear children who could be a bit loud and demanding at times), “Put on your raincoats and rainhars and go outside into the forest and talk to the other animals for five hours, while I relax”. And he poured himself a nice glass of Schloss Bearenheimer and settled down, failing to notice the rebellious atmosphere in the air.

L-Bear – usually the liveliest and cheekiest daughter - had just been on holiday at the seaside getting sunbearnt, and she didn’t want to be out in the rainy forest at all. “I’m going to look like thunder all evening,” she said, “and I’m not going to smile even once. And Daddy can’t make me. Anyway, those other animals are a bunch of wankers, and I don’t want to talk to them.”

At this point up spoke C-Bear, Daddy Bear’s favourite. “I’m not going to wear a horrid unfashionable raincoat and rainhat. I’m going to wear my nice pretty outfit and I don’t care. Anyway, I’m the prettiest of all of you, and if I smile sweetly, Daddy Bear will forgive me anything as usual.”

Oh no, thought Daddy Bear. I can’t bear it. It’s going to be another one of those nights and had another glass of Bearenheimer.

The normally quiet one, K-Bear, spoke up too: “Well, if C-Bear isn’t going to wear her raincoat, I’m not going to wear mine either – but,” she added sheepishly, “I don’t mind wearing the hat.”

Now it was A-Bear’s turn. “Daddy Bear,” she said, “You always treat me like a robot, having to do just what you say, so I’m going to behave exactly like one so that you can see how humiliating it is.”

At this point Daddy Bear knew that he had lost control, but he was far too tired to try to do something about it, so he put his paws over his ears and pretended that it was not happening.

The following morning after all that wine, Daddy Bear felt like a bear with a sore head and summoned all the girls to his study. “Girls,” he said, “You have all behaved very selfishly and unbearably, so here are your punishments:

-A-Bear, I was wrong to treat you like a robot, and I apologise for that lack of respect, so I will let you off with a warning.
-L-Bear, you were wilful and rude, so you will receive no pocket money for one month.
-K-Bear, you were easily led by your silly sister, so I am sending you out to get a proper job.
-C-Bear, there’s no point in smiling like that and fluttering your eyelashes. I am very disappointed in you. Your punishment is to be sent away to boarding school where you will learn the importance of teamwork.”

At this all the girls burst into tears, but Daddy’s mind was made up.

The moral of this story in real life is of course:

Managers need to know what their employees are doing
Managers need to have their employees under control
Employees sometimes need to be punished

@ bellerophon

Apologies are also un-neccessary. I was actually refering to a comment that there was no longer any humour in the posts. Had the person who wrote that (the second post that I refered to) had actually read this topic he might have written differently.

And I am sorry to read that you still have many problems. Some people do not realise just how lucky they really are.

No need to appologize. You have been seven hours earlier.
But ... it shows that there is a great discomfort with the current shows if more than one poster bears the inconvenience to write a well thought out post on that topic.
I hope someone notices this and draws some conclusions from it.
In general I prefere to read some good posts that show that the author has used his brains to put it into form (no, I'm not trying to attack anyone, honestly) over the usual 'the show sucks', 'this is the end', 'good night Europe', 'xy go home', ... ones.

There's a moral here just like Rhondda buses. You wait ages for one and then two come together.

Seems like the autor of the 2nd did not read the first.

But this swot (explanation will follow in the usual place on the usual day) appreciates the sentiment. Even the models' letters spell LACK.

i also agree that the show needs some more management attention att the moment , but itt looks like " Daddy Bear " is also on his holidays , and has no time too control the " Bear family "

Yep, I agree that the shows need some management attention, even though there are other pressing jobs @ the moment.
