Reflections on a birthday weekend.

If there is one saying that you should learn by heart is "You do not mix business with pleasure" or put it even more simply 'work is work, play is play'

And so it came to pass that on a mild October night the eUrotic birthday party came rolling onto our screen. Deep down we knew before hand that it would be a night like no other since you have to make a decision. You either work or you play. You cannot do both. So the girls who bravely put their names forward to appear to be working that evening had such a choice. But they had previous such evenings to remind them of the simple fact most who turn up for work on such an evening will not do so and it is much better to forget the work for just one night and party.

For those who looked in and expected a free show they would, as ever, be disappointed. Since they forget the cardinal rule that has been preached here before :

"Everything you see must be paid for"

So if the viewer was only prepared for this evening, like any other really, just to view then they would feel disappointed. But those brave enough, as ever, to pay would be rewarded......

And cometh the next day, when the party spirits have been slept off, the reality of work comes back. Those that kept their money the previous night could now be more assured of a typical show and they have not been disappointed.

I will end today's little missive with a thought. This time last year I was convinced that the show was about to leave the stage. Yet even after a quite difficult year they still survive. If we could fortell what the future would bring, we could make many plans. But we cannot so we react as the problems arise. Sometimes we make good decisions and sometimes not so good. But even after such a year we can show our face and smile about it, even though deep down we may want to cry, we show that we are human. And that human face is featured in the little video of the highlights of the party I prepared which you can find here:

So, my friend, I trust you can continue to smile and bring some smiles to the sad faces that frequent these pages. Not that most actually deserve it.

Re: Reflections on a birthday weekend.

There' s very wonderful instrumental song from canadian prog-gods Rush. That was named "La Villa Strangiato".

You could enjoy it here.

But if you got the album where that suite is included (Hemispheres), sure you know that song has a subtitle.

Nothing more to add. This is my first and last post here.
