Yes. This is the big surprise was the lack of teams in the tournament.
I wonder if this temporary crisis or a change in the strength of African football.

Well, not a big surprise that Ivory Coast has reached the final, but Zambia that could be one.
Otherwise Zambia brought good and talented players in front. Never I will forget the game
Zambia - Italy 4:0 (sorry brudgon) during the Olympic football tournament in Seoul 1988.

Then happened the so named "Gabon Air Disaster"

A lot of members of the same team lost their life in an airplane crash on the 27th April 1993 when Zambia's
national team was on board on a flight to Senegal for a qualification match for the participation in the world
championship tournament in the U.S.A. 1994. The airplane crashed in the Atlantic Ocean after a refueling stop
in Libreville, the capital of Gabon. The tragedy is named after the last place on earth
when the passengers were still alive...

So I will keep my fingers crossed for Zambia. They deserve it.

Sorry to answer by myself

only a bit more of information. The planned flight and the unplanned end...
The destination was Dakar the capital of Senegal.
