For the first time India will host a Grand Prix Formula One
The new Buddh International Circuit has several ups and downs. It looks fast with some long straights and slow technical corners. There are also a slightly banked, double apex corners (10/11). It is similar to the famous curve 8 in Turkey(Istanbul Park) but with one difference: instead of widening, the second part tightens. The average predicted speed is 210 km/h. and the gap in lap time between hard and soft tires will be huge on this track At the Indian GP, pilots will have available 6 sets of soft(yellow) and 5 sets of hard(silver) tyres to plan out their strategy. Teams usually are given 11 sets of dry-weather tyres per grand prix weekend, but normally five softer option sets and six harder primes. After practices five sets of tyres must be returned to the tyre supplier So before the start of Saturday’s qualifying and for the race each driver has available 3 sets of each specification in dry conditions. The most used strategy in this season for the top drivers, is of three pit stops. In this way, the drivers remain on track for several laps with the faster tires and they use the harder tyre only in the last part of the race. The FIA has set two independent DRS-zones for the Indian Grand Prix,on the start/finish straight and on the long straight after curve three. The same system was used at the Italian GP in Monza. the podium after 16 races: 1° place: Vettel 10 – Button 3 – Hamilton 2 – Alonso 1 2° place; Vettel 4 – Alonso 4 – Button 3 – Hamilton 3 – Webber 2 3° place; Webber 7 – Button 3 – Alonso 3 – Vettel 1 – Heidfeld 1 – Petrov 1 Total podium: Vettel 15 – Button 9 – Webber 9 – Alonso 8 – Hamilton 5 – Heidfeld and Petrov 1 Fastest lap on race: Webber 5 – Hamilton 3 – Button 3 – Massa 2 – Vettel 2 – Alonso 1 Pole positions: Vettel 12 – Webber 3 – Hamilton 1 The record for poles in a single season by a driver is 14 (Mansell, 1992). The record for wins in a single season by a driver is 13 (Schumacher, 2004) Ciao Marco |

Panda wrote:My guess is that his only reason is some extra money Karthikeyan and his sponsors are bringing to the team. Unfortunately, in today's F1 we have many pay-drivers - average drivers with a big sponsor - Karthikeyan, Ricciardo (he has support from Red Bull), Petrov, Maldonado, Perez, d'Ambrosio, Bruno Senna and others. HRT has only one big sponsor - it's Karthikeyan's Tata. Sad, but F1 becomes a big business without talented drivers :/ |

What do you think ? My guess is that his only reason is some extra money Karthikeyan and his sponsors are bringing to the team. |

Another short news :
Official: Liuzzi set aside for comeback Karthikeyan Vitantonio Liuzzi will not be in action on next weekends Grand Prix . This is confirmed by Hispania Racing team boss Colin Kolles today .The Italian will be confronted with Narain Karthikeyan, who for his home race in India will return once more in the Spanish car.Last month it became clear that Karthikeyan in his home race would return to the cockpit with HRT.The Indian will thus take over the seat of Liuzzi. Team boss Kolles went on: "For HRT, the race in India is even more special than for the other teams. We have Karthikeyan the first Indian driver and for our sponsor TATA it seems like we have a home race. Narain is a talented driver and we are glad we could race with his experience. I asked Tonio Liuzzi place just to stand and I have to thank him for his professionalism. " Kind Regards Shaky-Schumi |
