Does V.A.R work?
Does V.A.R work - I would say most of the time, but not all of the time. It is supposed to be the saving grace of fair play in football,but V.A.R. still involves decisions made by humans,and when you get decisions made by humans there are a few factors that come into play - corruption; racism; politics; sabotage and fear of going against the much fancied teams. If your team has a great chance of winning this competition, the idea of scuppering a rival is very tempting - it would be interesting to know the nationality of the video referees that refused to refer the dodgy Switzerland goal against Brazil,it was clear for everyone to see the two handed push on the Brazilian defender. I'm Welsh,and I will never forget what happened in the last rugby international between Wales and England,the video referee refused to give a clear try to Wales that would have won us the match ,forcing the World Rugby Federation of Referees to apologise and admit it was a try. |
