 Actress Sylvia Kristel is deceased. The 60-year-old actress was seriously ill for months. She suffered from esophageal cancer. Kristel became internationally known for her roles in the soft-erotic film series "Emmanuelle". Also played them in numerous other films, about fifty in all. Sad news. Sylvia Kristel has died aged 60. Far too young. She had mixed success after Emannuelle, including 7 years in Hollywood appearing in Airport 79 and Private Lessons and was left almost penniless after bankrolling unsuccessful films. She stopped appearing nude to spare her sons blushes at school, though she did return to her roots to voiceover later Emmanuelle films in the 90s. She became a painter specialising in portraits and roses.
