Tutorial: Webstreams, lossless conversion; editing with Avidemux

Shirtfull wrote:@Dackel0401 Yes, you a right, but not every webstream makes use of variable framerates and not in general imho. I've recorded quite a few webstreams (mostly UK) myself in the last years and what I've seen were mostly constant framerates (variable were quite rare) and yes, it's much easier to deal with them... Brudgon has learned by now that things are different with variable framerates and also knows how to use mediainfo - so it shouldn't be a problem to provide a little bit more information about the video - it could indeed be helpfull... ;-) |

@brudgon
All we know is that you have problems cutting in Avidemux. You're asking us to guess. see :- [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] With so little info supplied, ie file type/format, source , was it live or a prerecorded recording. what was it recorded with, it might be a known bug? Then is cut at beginning of GOP or in middle, is cut being made as copy or a re-encode? So more info requested. @Dackel0401 if it is a live stream recording, usually variable frame rate, converting to avi is a No No as avi format only supports fixed frame rate and so will lead to audio desync. Or try this , it use FFmpeg and is free [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] |

Here's something you can try and maybe it helps to make the editing-part easier for you - because flash-videos can be quite tricky and the results are not always the best. First of all: Please make sure you're using Avidemux 2.6, it won't work with Avidemux 2.5 because 2.5.6 creates corrupt avi-files if they are larger than 4GB and then you have to fix them with mencoder by rebuilding the index.
Open your file with Avidemux and change the video- and audio-output on the left side. Select Video-Output "(FF)HuffYUV) [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] and under Audio-Output "PCM", the Output-format has to be "AVI Muxer" [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Now go to Menu - File - Save and save your video with the extension .avi at the end as you see it in the screenshot here: [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Avidemux will encode your video now using a lossless codec for video and audio. HuffYUV is very compatible and the process is quite fast, but it will create a huge file on your harddisk because it's lossless and that also means you don't lose any of the quality of the original file in this process. When the encoding is done open the avi-file with Avidemux and now you should be able to edit it without problems + very precisely and much more accurate then with flash. Do your editing and then comes the part where you really have to encode your video with a lossy codec, unless you want to upload 30,40 or even more GB. I have plenty of presets for Avidemux, but I'm not sure you can use them without any adaptions under Windows, so please go back to the Video-Output: Select Mpeg4-AVC (x264) for Video and AAC (FAAC) for audio: [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] The preset to start with is acceptable, but of course you can modify them by clicking "Configure". I would recommend: 1. Use General - advanced configuration and use the following settings: [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Save them, so you don't have to do this again apply the settings by clicking "Ok". Now go to Menu - File - Save again and now the Output-format has to be either Mkv Muxer = extension .mkv or MP4-Muxer - whatever you prefer. Depending on your processing power encoding with these settings can take some time, but it's a first little step when you want to learn how to encode your videos. |

brudgon wrote:i still have problems with the audio in avidemux Let me quess, Trying to cut FLV format. You need to research the FLV format your source file is. IE is it Constant frame rate or Variable frame rate. then start on the audio and find out what the sample rate is, Then open source file in avideux and check file info to see if avidemux reads the info correctly..If not use another program which does. |

peyman_senior wrote:...by the way I can't use the live stream of etvshow due to no sex policy of my proxifier!! :-() If it's the proxifier-software [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] that blocks you from having access to various sites, streams or whatever, then your chances are not the best. Even some Internet-providers are using proxifier and it's a very powerful and advanced software. I know some universities use proxifier to prevent that their students are getting distracted too much from learning... You can configure your own proxy-server to "bypass" proxifier and it might work for some time. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of free proxy-servers available and it takes only a few minutes of your time to configure them. It should be no problem then to have access to some sites that have been blocked before, but there's another problem... Proxifier has very advanced and efficient filtering capabilities and if the admin knows his job your access will be blocked again very soon. The filters will identify your own proxy sooner or later and block it after some time or inform the admin via logfiles and then it depends how "lazy" the admin is. |

Hello everybody,
Sadly the eurotic live stream on this site doesn't work for me anymore, although I have flash player version 12.0.0.77 installed on my chrome. :-( Does anyone knows what might the problem be or can anyone suggest another site which offers live stream? ( by the way I can't use the live stream of etvshow due to no sex policy of my proxifier!! :-() I'd really appreciate your help, thanks |

Avidemux 2.6.8 (r9045) - generic rpm-packages 64bit (Only for testing!!!)
avidemux3-core-2.6.8-1.r0.bootstrap.x86_64.rpm avidemux3-plugins-COMMON-2.6.8-1.r0.bootstrap.x86_64.rpm avidemux3-plugins-QT4-2.6.8-1.r0.bootstrap.x86_64.rpm avidemux3-plugins-SETTINGS-2.6.8-1.r0.bootstrap.x86_64.rpm avidemux3-qt4-2.6.8-1.r0.bootstrap.x86_64.rpm [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] The developers have added support for x264-presets (if you are too lazy to use the advanced configuration) [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Sadly vdpau-deinterlacing offers only Mode 2 ("vdpauDeint", "deintMode=2"), but it's a very fast and by far not the worst deinterlacer. To use vdpau-deinterlacing you must have a nvidia-graphics card installed and it only works with the proprietary nvidia-driver [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] By the way: "Mode 4" means: Motion adaptive temporal deinterlacing with edge-guided spatial interpolation and "Mode 2" = Bob deinterlacing, similar to -vf tfields=1 Download: [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Install the packages with: sudo rpm -ivh avidemux3*.rpm Windows, MacOS and Ubuntu-users can download the nightlies here: [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] |

Some RPM-packages for Fedora 20 (64bit):
Sadly the very stable 2.5.6 version of Avidemux is no longer available for Fedora 19/20, so let's change that...
