Rapidshare ordered to proactively filter pirated content Written by Andre Yoskowitz @ 18 Mar 2012 23:00 User comments (6) A higher court in Germany has ruled this week that cyberlocker Rapidshare must proactively filter pirated content from its site. The decision upholds similar rulings from lower courts, each of which said the cyberlocker did not do enough to prevent piracy on its servers. Germany's ruling covers both music and book downloads and dated back to an original case in 2009 brought by GEMA, a German organization representing that country's composers, vocalists, and music publishers. Rapidshare downloads are for free users in many times to slow and parallel downloads are not possible. Why the members don't use a torrent network to share the video-caps? The speed grows up with the number of users and a disaster like megaupload will not be a problem anymore.

Considering the variations of the download speed i assume they have capacity problems, after more than half of the big OCH are down many customers have changed to RS so their traffic probably has increased strongly. With limiting the traffic for free users they can save bandwidth to provide it for their paying customers, additonally they "motivate" free users to buy a premium account. Regards joker |

I use usenet.nl, gives 5GB per month download free. Morph Wake up thinking the day will be better and go to bed thinking it could have been worse. |
