Re: What's in a name

Malena is also the diminutive of "Magdalena" (Maddalena in italian, you know her story in Vangel, this is the time too) and more, is the title of a movie directed by Giuseppe Tornatore (Oscar in 1990 for Nuovo Cinema Paradiso) starring a wonderful Monica Bellucci, who played a young woman called Malena in a small place in Sicily. She was a sex bomb as our Malena (even though hair colors are quite different).

About Randa, I think it has to be related to her good spanish skills, randa in italian (and I think in spanish too) means the mainsail in sailing language, you know spanish were very good at sailing.

Next name: Alexa.

Re: What's in a name

"Malena" is  swinging like a wave. There's music in the air when you hear this bundle of  voiced konsonants and weak vocals, esp. the repeated "a".

"Malena" sounds very smooth like a spring breeze.

Or am I totally wrong with this interpretation?

Re: What's in a name

Safo is of course related to the ancient greek female poet known because she  was a lesbian (even though she had a daughter), born in a greek island named Lesbos (a friend of mine is from this place).

Of course the word "lesbian" comes from this greek island where young girls used to grow up in some kinds of college named "tiasos" (all female, boys were trained to be soldiers).

Next name: Malena.

Re: What's in a name

Of course me too think Dorian has to be related to Wylde's novel, because of Dorian's age (she often is called Nefertiti or somewhat Egyptian name).

Of course we haven't to talk about a lady's age. :)))

Erik forgot to name the next, I'll wait some time then I'll do.

Re: What's in a name

@Brokingbull:

Sabrina Setlur was never married with Boris Becker. There had been a love affair between them in 2001.

@outside: Thank you for your persuading definitions.

To Dorian: Might be a part of "The picture of Dorian Gray" written by Oscar Wilde. But I don't try to interpretate this novel merely quoting from the novel's preface:

"All art (even ETV shows; the poster) is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril...It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors".

And last but not least:

"All art is quite useless".

Happy Eastern!

@outside: I've named Jaya what has been answered but another Bunny should be Safo .

Re: What's in a name

Jaya is an Indian word, that means victory, and it appears in a traditional sanskrit song (Govinda Jaya) reprised by George Harrison and many years later by Kula Shaker.

So, we had a third Victoria (at that time there were Viki the mod and Viki the camerawoman). :))))))

About Tia, I think it has to be related to good spanish skills by our favourite fatina, (in spanish tia means aunt, in italian zia, and so we can add another name:)), there's a very beautiful american actress named Tia Carrere (starring Relic Hunter serie).

There's a coffee liquor named Tia Maria (good, but I prefer Kahlua). :))

Next name: Dorian (again).

About Kaleya, I thought to greek "Kalòs", that means "beautiful".
