Do they belong ?

I prefer to start a topic rather than post some 'hot air' as I believe that this warrants debate. Just because a model does not meet your expectations of who should appear in front of the camera then do they belong there ? The company is selling talk time. If you get a little extra then it is a bonus. You can go back to the earliest of days with the channel and they promoted fully clothed girls. So nothing has changed in this respect. If the girl provides the income then she has done her job. I have written before of my total aborment of seeing guys (and gays) in front of the camera. But do they belong there ? It's the same arguement with a new twist. I know for a fact that many of the models simply adore our arabic-speaking friend - you can see that in their performance when he is on screen (if you can bear to look). Last week 'he' was on screen for the whole show and had a head-set. Granted there may have been a drunk or two phoning in thinking there really was a new female there but the fact was that 'he' appeared to be quite busy. And that meant that 'he' had the desired use of being there. And just think for one moment. The night shows, overall, are not very effective right now and I am sure that call level is generally down. But what if, for some strange reason, that particular show was one of the higher earners for the channel. Would they drop it just because a minority of ,basically, non-contributors did not like it ?. Right now there is, like anything new, an element of novelty. The novelty could wear thin and only then, when the money stops rolling in, is there any real impetus to change. |
