A vintage maybe.....

A vintage maybe.....

but not to my taste.

I will probably make a few more 'friends' after this one. But I was never one to be afraid to put my thoughts on to paper (even tho many of you claim not to be able to understand a word of it)

The time of year is now upon us once again and the restaurants declare "Beaujolais nouveau will be available on friday"

Vastly over-rated and not to everyone's taste, it comes back time after time and the connoisseur must try it just to see if it was the same as before. Or maybe even better or even worse.

And indeed you now ask what these seemingly off-topic words have to do in this section. Well, it is actually quite easy when you think what happened this last friday.

For several days, the placards went up in the restaurant to announce that a vintage would soon return. But I have to ask myself why all the fuss. Other models, some longer-standing , returned without any fan-fare. And that is the appeal of the channel. The element of surprise now had gone since every viewer knew exactly what was going to happen.

Of course, had there not been any announcement some viewers could have missed the event but that, like any other casting, is the luck of the draw.

And what if, after all this promotion, for whatever reason, she failed to appear. Those that expected would feel cheated but with no announcement no one would have been any the wiser. To illustrate this quite perfectly, but without naming names, I had heard that a certain model was scheduled to appear this saturday night just gone. But she was not there. Was there any announcement explaining her absence ? With Hans Solo at the mic I tend to turn off the sound rather than experience his mastery of the German tongue and his excessive use of a certain word so I do not know. Yet I doubt it very much.

I will leave you to work out the rest of the comparison as it should be quite self-explanatory. But I do find it sad when it is the vintages that return rather than the bringing of fresh produce to the table. You know what you get with the vintage. A fresh grape could spring even more surprises.

Re: A vintage maybe.....

No information, just some rumors and some expectation.

Re: A vintage maybe.....

As you know very well they have good reason to bring in some proven vintage models to make sure they have enough models appropriate for the kind of experiment they wanna retry in the upcomming months. So given the rumors circling around I wouldn't wonder to see some other vintage models to show up in the next weeks.
