The Bears part 6 - Wolves in the forrest

With Bellerophons permission I present part 6 of the continuing story. A little different, but I hope you will enjoy it.

Wolves in the forrest

It was a dreary morning after the party the night before. The Monkeys had hardly woken up and were still feeling their head aching as the forrest was starteld by the piercing howling of a pack of wolves.

Granted they were promised a feast, but when push came to shove all they got at the party were scraps and bits, so their bad tempered howling wasn't without reason. The party ending up to be a wash wasn't due to the Bear daughters though. Aided by some Beaver daugthers they had served the goods at the party as best they could.

The problem lie with the failing leadership as Daddy Bear in his Schloss Bearenheim soaked wisdom had asked sir Switch-A-Lot and Lady Talks-A-Lot to make the arrangements for the party. Why he kept on putting his trust in these two can only be speculated as they had proven time and time again they weren't up to the task. Surely the loss of Mummy Bear as his most important business councelor as well as his increasing troubles with the strong arm of the law had contributed to his problems as much as his increasing intake of Schloss Bearenheimer.

And so it was that after a quiet spell the forrest was once again in turmoil with the wolves giving in to their howling, causing a bad mood for all forrest dwellers and making them feel uneasy. Now the Deputy Forrest Rangers had warned the wolves time and time again this kind of behavior simply wouldn't do. They already had their hands full explaining the rules to new monkeys moving in. Although a tap on the wrist was usually enough to get them inline, their sheer volume still meant they were a handfull.

However if these wolves were to gain the upper hand the forrest would be a terrible place to live for friendly, pleasant and easy to get along with monkeys. Where were these wolves coming from anyway? They weren't indigenous to the forrest. Did they come from a neighboring forrest just to disturb the peace and quiet in the Bear forrest? This question had given the Deputy Forrest Rangers as many headaches as trying to explain to the forrest dwellers how it was possible that again a party had fallen short of expectation.

Something had to be done, because clearly the wolves didn't understand their howling had as much effect on Daddy Bear as education had on sir Switch-A-Lot. Maybe they could be trained not to howl as much, but instead to use a more modern way to voice their problems, like smoke signals. Maybe, if all else failed, some of them would have to be put down as an example for the others.
