Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova has been injured in an apparent robbery in her home in Prostejov, Czech Republic. Kvitova 's agent confirmed reports of the attack on Tuesday morning. According to reports, a man was able to gain entry into Kvitova 's building on Tuesday morning by posing as a maintenance worker. Kvitova was able to fend off the attack but sustained severe lacerations to her left hand. The assailant has yet to be apprehended.
"Thank you for all your heartwarming messages today," Kvitova said in a statement. "As you may have already heard, today I was attacked in my apartment by an individual with a knife. In my attempt to defend myself I was badly injured on my left hand. I am shaken, but fortunate to be alive. The injury is severe and I will need to see specialists, but if you know anything about me I am strong and I will fight this. London (Great Britain), 13-20 November : Results Finals : Singles : In the last match of the 2016 ATP season, Andy Murray (1) won his 44th ATP tournament in career (9th this year and first Year-end Master), defeating Novak Djokovic (2) 6-3, 6-4 after 1h 43' ![]() First set was decided by an only break, made by Murray in 8th game, with the Scottish player closing then the set 6-3 after 47'; in second set the world' s N° 1 broke twice the world' s N° 2, in first and fifth game, leading 4-1 on serve, but the Serbian didn' t give up and managed to break him back once and to stay close until 4-5, when Murray was able to close the match at the third match-point and keep the world' s N° 1 spot.
