Re: Sports in general. us open tennis

The second round of the men's singles saw the big surprise of the elimination of Tsonga ... Only 5 aces, very few points on second serve ... Great merits to the opponent, but the Frenchman was unrecognizable ... Here and in the first 2 rounds we were a few surprises, but nothing so sensational, Tsonga aside ... If anything, for a long time I did not see Blake in this form ... And Chardy ... But we do not add anything else about these two crazy horses!! Out of curiosity I looked at the statistics of the match Raonic-Mathieu ... Sets 3-0, Raonic 30 aces ... Clear victory? It does not seem, as a total Raonic has made only 4 points more ... The law of the service, not of the best .. Meanwhile, Federer Murray and Berdych travel at high speed

In the women's board, Wozniacki out in the first round, but her crisis is now clearly established ... Reminds me a lot D.Safina, number one winless in the slam tournaments and went in crisis psychologically for that .... Lisicki (but Cirstea was a tough obstacle ...even if out badly in the second round) but especially Goerges and McHale defeats against prediction ... Then there is Cljisters out in second round ... End of an era, but Robson is a remarkable statement ... Not only because Italian, but I would like to talk about the victory of R.Vinci against Shvedova, that has power from top 5, but crazy head!!! .... Under 3-6 1-3, won 7-5 the 2nd set ... In the third, under 3-5, on 4-5 has canceled two match points and then win 3-6 7-5 7-5 ... I'm following Venus against Kerber, who served on to win 6-2 5-4 ... And won 6-2 5-7 7-5 only now after she nearly lost a match in which she wasted many opportunities ... With regard to the backboard, in the upper part there is a lot more substance, with Azarenka, Li, Sharapova, Stosur, Kvitova!!! Down, Serena, Radwanska, Kerber, Ivanovic.... And 2 italians...

Re: Sports in general.

In 2002 Alain Baxter won a bronze medel for slalom in the winter olympics and how easy he lost that medal after.

A few days after his return home, Alain discovered that he had failed a drug test. His sample contained a trace amount of methamphetamine - albeit the inactive levorotary isomer of methamphetamine - levomethamphetamine (aka levMethamphetamine), an isomer with no significant stimulant properties. After an appeal, the IOC declared that Baxter was disqualified from the competition and he would have to return his medal. Reports suggested that Benjamin Raich (the Austrian athlete that received the medal following the IOC's decision), gave his bronze medal to Alain suggesting it was rightly his, but this has been denied by Baxter.[6]
Baxter was able to confirm later that the trace had originated from a Vicks inhaler bought in the United States. He had been unaware that the contents were different from those found in the UK version. The International Ski Federation accepted his explanation and banned him for the minimum of 3 months.

There are 2 things that can show strange results like in Alain's case a different country has different medication content but shown as the same product, to me that was not cheating it was only a lack of reading the back of the bottle but if you think there all the same would you?

The second i've heard of people spiking drinks for others unknowing to them and ended up been classed as a drugs cheat, but most only hear the word drugs cheat and thats enough.

Lance Armstrong's story is different again and sorry but what he went through in the past i still have respect for what he did for the sport, it is one of the most demanding sports ever invented so most if not all who have won in the past will of taken something as a massage after a stage is not a miracle for the next days stage, if they strip him of those wins then what about all the east german women from the late 70's early 80's giving there golds back.

We all watch sports like athletics to see new world records broken and say WOW! what a magnificent race that was, then after its announced they where cheating, i'm not a fan of cheating in any form but like when Ben Johnson at the time demolished the 100m world record i was not thinking WOW! what a cheat, no i was one of those who was amazed at the time and considered it one of the best races i'd ever seen!

Sports are a show and if no records or controversy then that year championships or event is not remembered and lost in history in most peoples minds.

I don't condone drug taking as i think its dumb and the harm it does to the body in later life is unbelievable, but the past is the past and it should not be dragged through courts for years to kill the legacy of some great people who at the time was considered great, sport starts of as a game when you first start and then turns into a job somewhere along the line and kills the fun, those in football who earn millions for diving in the penalty area when someone is within 2 metres of them i'm almost sure they did not start playing like that when they was a child, if so then thats not sport.

Re: Sports in general. us open tennis

Starting the us open tennis championship..... Draw..... To arrive in quarterfinal, on the top of tennis board there are Federer and Berdych...then Murray and Tsonga... Federer could be some difficulties in the 4th round probably ag. Simon, but the same n.16 of the seeding could have an insidious second round if he should meet Karlovic, the ace-man, and then fish or davidenko, proud, but not in his best form...... Berdych can have some problems ag. Goffin, new belgian talent... I don' t believe in almagro, n.11, more in F.Mayer, on that side of board, if he plays better than the latest months..
. For the others two, Murray and tsonga, I think there are no problems with cilic and raonic, even though they may get to meet them in the 4th round... Chardy is playing very well, now... He could be a little surprise, but are many year in France wait for him!!

In the Lower side, for the quarterfinals we have tipsarevic and ferrer, djokovic and delPotro... Bad road for the first two, full of good players. Tipsarevic has Isner (no easy 1st round ag. Malisse, 3rd probably with kohlschreiber, that started ag. Llodra, always a dangerous player).. Ferrer immediately has the obstacle anderson, and from him to gasquet a series of toughs players like haas, youzhny, Hewitt, gulbis, melzer (hoping to see the real melzer...).. in the last part, I don't think wawrinka, dolgopolov, stakhowsy, baghdatis can beat djokovic... For delPotro, derby ag. Nalbandian at 1st round!!!! 5 sets???? In that side there are tomic and roddick, more than any other, but probably if delPotro def. Nalbandian, he can have a straight road to Nole..
No prediction, because I always wrong ... But I would think that Murray, after the victory in the Olympic tournament, is much more confidence in himself... And I'm not Andy's fan, absolutely... We'll see sooner... Again, sorry for my english, but I didn't use web translator too much, this time...

As for Armstrong, if I had to stick to what I've read in some medical reports, I wouldn't have doubts about his guilt ... I know that the EPO has been taken as anti-cancer medicine ... But it is also difficult to accept that a sporty racer can race with a hematocrit almost 90% ... First, because it was determined that when a value was greater than 50 would have stopped a runner because it was dangerous to health (Pantani was stopped for that reason ... And the value was 52%... 2% over the limit.. had 48 the day before, and still 48 some hour later... Remember that!!) ... Second, even if the EPO was taken for therapeutic purposes, but it is undeniable that still bring a performance advantage ... That said, I'm not on the side of Armstrong, but I'm not from that part of USADA ... On every newspaper will find tables around the hematocrit of Armstrong in 2004 ... But we are in 2012 ... Anyway, even if this whole mess was started in 2005, was in any case an improper delay ... Also strange, as well as guilty ... And yet in favor of Armstrong there are over 500 controls all negative ... Now we see that says the UCI, which still has not decided whether to ratify the same penalties of USADA ... personally I would remove to Armstrong the Tour title in 2004, one in which its values were out of the norm (he said that the charges were poorly executed and contaminated ...) and the next one for the eventual disqualification ... The others no .. it would be like removing a Pantani his Tour for what happened later .. retroactivity in these cases is a judicial doping, in my opinion... Anyway, I invite you to read well what happened that morning in Madonna di Campiglio against Pantani... Perhaps the result would be the same, but certainly the ritual of blood draw was a disaster... But... no more words... Pantani for me was like one of my family...

Re: Sports in general.

I am against of all the forms of doping, of course, but it would be necessary to use a more just system to decide when it is doping and when not.
It is incomprehensible that a sportsman could not take a medicine that yes that is allowed to his two-year-old son.
