I'm using (a version) of jacksta for stream recording and it works fine. But it only works when the feed is streaming - so for instance, if I try to record BS webstream, the stream drops every 10 mins and I have to manually restart the stream every time to start another recording. So I'm getting loads of 10 min clips and can only record when I'm there to restart it.

I'm not sure from what I've read here if jacksta is supposed to do the restart (in which case could it be a problem with the 'version'?) or if there's something missing from my setup, but wondered if anyone can advise?

thanks

I use Jaksta and no you should not be getting any timeouts, the only time i have recording problems is through the stream itself not working correctly, one i can't record constantly now is Sexysat as they refresh every hour so need to connect again.

Maybe try going through another browser?
i tried right now to install jaksta but i have a little problemAngryAngry

Re: How to record Streams?!

For the sexstation-stream I use the Replay Media Catcher.
And for cutting (without loss of quality) avidemux.
but lately sexstation changed their codec to h264, so avidemux crashes by opening the recorded files.
that's the reason, why I don't update my recordings in that section.

Could you please tell me the URL for the GlamourChase stream? I've been unable to locate one. Thank you very much.

The RTMP stream is at:
rtmp://93.89.84.206/iptv_babestation_day/livestream
or
rtmp://93.89.84.206/iptv_babestation_day/&id=livestream

Re: How to record Streams?!

I had the same problems with tools you use, did some research some time ago and found 2 other tools which are able to handle most streams (without having to keep the browser open):

(1) Jaksta - not free but if you know where to look you'll certainly get a free version, e.g. [hidden link - please register]
(2) Coojah (free) - [hidden link - please register] ( a bit complicated for novice users maybe, but if you know how to handle it it works like a charm)

Re: How to record Streams?!

After reading every single post in this thread and trying just about every program that was suggested (except for Mac which I don't have),
I STILL have some unsolved problems with Replay Video Capture and Replay Media Catcher:

1) Replay Media Catcher is *supposed* to be able to "sniff" the RTMP stream, so once it detects the stream you just start capturing it and you don't need to keep your browser on the webpage you're recording.
But as of now, my RMC does not manage to detect the stream for most channels (e.g.: RLC, BB, BS) so it's quite useless. I have even tried installing URLSniffer and provide RMC with the actual URL for the stream but to no avail.

2) Replay Video Capture can record any portion of the screen, so as long as you're viewing a webstream it can record it flawlessly. But in this case, in addition to the nag of not being able to move away from the webpage you're recording, with most streams (especially BB) every few minutes there is the dreaded "click here to continue viewing" problem that I do not know how to get around.

So far, I am only able to capture flawless/uninterrupted streams from Elite, Glamourchase/Bikini Babes and RLC, but only using the 2nd method.

Any advice from users of these progs would be greatly appreciated!

Confused I thought it was from something like EyeTV but of course this is only freeview, and Bluebird etc. is only Sky or online and I doubt that's an online feed at that kind of quality. Is it coming straight out of a Sky box? Anyway, it looks great and since I moved to an area with Virgin only I've missed my Sky+ box loaded with hours of babes!!!

Sorry if this is straying from the subject a little, but the question was inspired by watching the gorgeous Sammie P! Big Grin

Cheers,

Both videos are from different sources, mine is from the stream and Mauro's is from TV, so pic quality is better but uses more MB.

dazaman wrote:I use this App [hidden link - please register] i use it to convert from flv to mp4 works great.

Am I the only one using (Ubuntu) Linux here?
Back in the Windows days, my favourite stream capture SW was Orbit Downloader, but on Linux it just won't work properly.
Just figured handbrake is also available for Linux. Gonna give it a try.
Anybody has any hints on what to use to convert then? Anything better than AcetoneISO maybe...

But do you have the free and newest version 4? I ask, because I can record easily but can't convert to mp4, mpeg or avi.

I need avi or mpg for editing/cutting with VirtualDub.

Thx in advance!

And thx to shirtfull for:

"Try FLV converter (Free) on recorded files..
[hidden link - please register]
Also very easy!

It takes 1hour20? Normal?

Edit:
Sorry, the flv file was that long before.

But there is a not so good loss of quality in the result. Sad

The best software to convert the one recorded through Replay Media catcher is

" Portable Xilisoft Video Converter Platinum "

There are lot of sites offering full version with crack... and the big advantage is that you can convert the portion that you want to convert in to any format (mp4, Avi etc,,,,) and any size and resolution.

This is the only one which allows conversion from the stream recorded from Replay media catcher(RMC)

Always remember to use the from _______ (Time) to ________ (time) as most of the stream video recorded from Replay Media catcher will not start from "00.00" time.... it abruptly start from say 2.00.35 Hrs ... and only VLC media player will play these files.

There are many many advantages of recording with RMC as you will see ... some the pay sites are also captured by this...without you paying anything...amazing .. some of the sites are premium sites... including sexstation which you get "you are not authorised to view from your country" .........truly amazing ..

@FLVbrokingbull

You could try dipping your toes into Avisynth and using FFmpegSource for input (All free)

Sorry, but this works like a handbrake, indeed. Angry

Installation asks for download of 63 MB of Microsoft's framework.net stuff.AngryAngryAngry

I'm not amused.Thumb down
