Bear strolls through Alaska liquor store's open door ...

An unexpected customer paid a visit to an Alaska liquor store when a bear came
walking through the front door. Surveillance footage shows the bear walking through
the open door of the Liquor Barrel in Juneau on Friday before standing up on its
hind legs to peruse the candy shelf.

[hidden image - please register]

Roger Thibodeau, the clerk of the family-owned store, told KTUU he initially thought
it was a dog but became "kinda freaked out" after seeing the snout and realizing it
was actually a bear. "I think that was the closest I've ever been to a bear," he told KTOO.
"I was basically kind of stunned when I saw it."

[hidden image - please register]

Before the bear was able to make its choice from the selection of candy bars, a customer
began clapping his hands and shooed the bear away to the Harri Plumbing and Heating next door.

Bob Dilley of the Juneau Police Department said the bear likely just followed its nose into the store.
"That place probably had some food in there that smelled so it wanted to check it out," he said.

Attempted thieves repeatedly fail to drag gas station ATM ...

Surveillance footage from a Maryland gas station showed a trio of hapless thieves
repeatedly fail to drag an ATM away in their van.

[hidden image - please register]

Prince George's County Police Department police shared video of the would-be thieves as they
wrapped a chain, attached to the back of their van, around the ATM and attempted to drag it out of place.

[hidden image - please register]

"The trio of suspects tried three times to pull out the ATM but came up empty," police said.
The suspects severely damaged the ATM on their first two attempts to pull it free, as the force of the
vehicle pulling the chain tore through a large portion of the machine.

Still determined to pluck the machine from the ground, one of the suspects attempted to fasten
the chain to a damaged portion of the ATM. The van driver then quickly backed the vehicle up
before speeding forward and ripping off a portion of the ATM, sending debris scattered all along the ground.

Upon realizing the fruitless nature of their efforts, the two suspects entered the van and drove away.
Prince George's Police encouraged anyone with information about the trio of suspects to contact their tips line.

who describes himself as Canuck’s friend. Bergmann said Canuck had bitten the
letter carrier during nesting season about two months ago, an incident that left the mailman bleeding.

Canuck has become a local personality in recent years after exhibiting some curious behaviour.
In 2016, he gained notoriety for stealing a knife from a crime scene. The year before, he was spotted riding the SkyTrain.

in a woman's appearance over the last several months suggests they fear. The stories of the villagers, an evil spirit
called Phi POB killed four cows and sent disease on four border guards. Village elders appealed to the Central authorities
with a request to send the police to "strengthen the civic spirit and the trust of the people and to prevent panic."

As writes the Thai newspaper "the Samui times", the country is home to at least 20 spirits, although not all of them are considered evil.

Deer visits New Jersey home for daily swim in pool ...

A fawn has made itself at home in a New Jersey family's backyard pool to escape
the summer heat. Resident Brittney Benincasa first spotted the deer climbing out
of the pool outside her Freehold Township home on June 14.

[hidden image - please register]

"I went to the sink to wash my hands, and through the window, I saw it climbing out
of pool and on to the pavement," she said. "She shook off and laid in my landscaping
for like 45 minutes, then she got up again and walked back towards the pool, leaning
over the edge. I had no idea that she could even swim."

[hidden image - please register]

Benincasa said she feared the deer had escaped drowning when she first saw the wet deer near
her pool and observed that she "didn't look happy." She hesitated to call animal services, instead
opening up the surrounding gates to give it the opportunity to walk out on its own.

The deer continued to return to the pool every day to enjoy the cool water and the massaging jets.
She said the deer's daily visits aren't necessarily welcome, but make for an interesting story.

Every day this dog rides the bus all by herself to go to the Park ...

Meet Seattle’s celebrity dog, Eclipse, who takes a bus to a nearby park all by herself.
“All the bus drivers know her.

[hidden image - please register]

She sits here just like a person does,” fellow rider Tiona Rainwater told KOMO.
“She makes everybody happy. How could you not love this face?”

[hidden image - please register]

It all started when the black Labrador and Mastiff mix was at a bus stop with her owner
Jeff Young. Her human was taking too long to finish his cigarette.

[hidden image - please register]

So, when the bus arrived, the pooch just got on it by herself and got off at the park.
Since that day, the owner knows he can always catch up with her later in the park.

[hidden image - please register]

The guy realized this smart girl can ride those 3-4 stops on the D line on her own
and always knows where to get off.

[hidden image - please register]

Although some officers say that Eclipse should ideally be on a leash, King County
allows dogs on public transport at the discretion of a driver. So, as this pooch causes
no harm but only makes passengers smile, the drivers are always more than happy
to give this four-legged miss a lift.

[hidden image - please register]

What about the doggie herself? Well, she seems to be proud of herself. Besides, her Facebook profile says
: “I love my big city life and enjoy taking the D line daily to the Belltown dog park.” What a smart doggie!

Man sent home from work for wearing shorts in 30C heat goes back to office in his mum's dress ...

Joey Barge, 20, from Buckinghamshire, turned up in a pair of smart blue shorts
on but bosses deemed them inappropriate despite the sweltering heat.

[hidden image - please register]

A defiant call centre worker who was sent home for wearing shorts to the office in
this week's heatwave came back wearing a bright pink dress as a 'protest' against the dress code.

[hidden image - please register]

They sent him home just minutes after he posted on Twitter asking his followers:
'If women can wear skirts/dresses at work can I wear smart shorts like so?' But
rather than changing into a stuffy suit, the call centre worker decided to don a bright
pink dress as a 'protest' against the rules.

[hidden image - please register]

Predicting that he'd be sent home again, Joey posted a chic selfie to Twitter, racking
up dozens of likes and retweets. Instead his act of defiance sparked a change in the
rules - with bosses sending out an email allowing 'gentlemen in the office' to wear
three-quarter length shorts in 'black, navy or beige only'.

[hidden image - please register]

Despite the u-turn - which Joey branded a 'partial win' - he opted to wear the colourful dress for the whole day in an act of defiance against the policy.

Metallica in his car. The man was filmed by a fellow motorist performing his one-man show.

But he soon ups the ante and really gets into the show. He can be seen air-drumming and hit the skins in time with the beat of the song.

The music can be heard clearly by fellow drivers stuck in traffic. Laughter can be heard from the car filming the man.
The clip has been viewed 1.5 million times since Tuesday. It is unknown where the clip was filmed.

‘The Restaurant Of Order Mistakes’ -You never know what you’re getting ...

One of the most frustrating things that can happen when eating out is ordering
one dish but receiving another.

[hidden image - please register]

Surprisingly, one restaurant is offering just that – The Restaurant of Order Mistakes
(a clever spin on a book called The Restaurant of Many Orders) popped up in
Tokyo’s Toyosu district, and its mission was to hire waiters with dementia.

[hidden image - please register]

The premise of the pop-up restaurant, which was in a trial period from June 2 – June 4, 2017,
was that the staff who have dementia may get your order wrong. But if you go in knowing
this upfront, it changes your perception about those who suffer from brain disease.

[hidden image - please register]

The experience makes you realize that with a little bit of understanding on our part
dementia patients can be functioning members of society.

[hidden image - please register]

Food blogger Mizuho Kudo visited The Restaurant of Order Mistakes and had a blast.
She originally ordered a hamburger but ended up having gyoza dumplings instead,
but everything turned out to be unexpectedly delicious.

[hidden image - please register]

Kudo also claimed that the waiters were full of smiles and seemed to be having tons of fun.
