Re: Tonight

DB, since I'm Austrian and a media journalist, I know what's allowed and what's not. I don't know the details, but I know that shows like Jaya's in 2006 aren't in accordance with free to air legislation. That's but one of the reasons why TV6 has been closed, apart from the owner being a rather bizarre character. Might be, that the owners of ETV got mail sometime last year and they feared the consequences.

But you may be right. Could be, that our Middle Eastern friends have some kind of influence on the quality of the program also. I guess that ETV will monitor very closely from where the majority of their calling cash cows come from.

But you can't compare a satellite based station to ORF, since ORF is a public channel. ATV+ and a few other local TV stations are about the only private channels. Austrian law is pretty similiar to German law when it comes to TV. And as I wrote in another post. The Germans had similiar call in shows where the girls weren'>t even allowed to take off their pants.

Re: Tonight

Even if there are different companies - which I doubt - it does not explain the content differences on E1 during the day compared to the evening.

I bow to your knowledge about Austrian broadcasting law but again there is no rumour. ETV has ALWAYS from day one been governed by the 'broadcasting laws' of Austria. It holds and always has held an Austrian broadcasting licence - you can look that up on the internet.

I cannot see them going to the expense of having another licence for E2. Does ORF2 have a different licence from ORF ?

My suspicion is that, in an attempt to attract more callers, they broadcast somewhere on terrestial tv in the evenings and it is the restrictions placed there (only for E1) that affect the content. Since E2 is , assumedly, satellite only, there is no such restriction.

Re: Tonight

The best shows I saw on ETV were I think in December 2006 they were very sexy and not because the girls everytime open their legs they knew when to do or not to do it. I was curious to know what will happen in the next show. there was a development in the shows from the beginning of etv until then as far as I saw it.

Today it's simply frustrating you know what will happen and what will not happen. Nothing unexpected happens. But maybe that 's only my opinion.

Re: Tonight

DB, they may well have different companies with different locations for E1 and E2. E2 - as far as I know - is only on Hotbird and E1 is on Astra and on Hotbird as well. It's all about where the particular company is registered and not from where they are airing. They can have their studio on the dark side of the moon for all that matters.

I know, that last year, at least  ETV1 was rumored to be owned by an Austrian and having their business registered in Austria. That's about the same time when the new show or no show laws were announced by the mod. And that's logical, since the Austrian law doesn't permit the kind of free to air shows they had prior to that announcement.

I'm on your side when it comes to my preference for rather soft shows. But not for boring shows. If you know right from the start, that there won't be anything happening other than hectic camera movements and large scale SMS about inviting others to some sort of sexual game or another, the surprise factor is gone.

Re: Tonight

First up. Anyone who tunes in expecting any girl to strip off, open her legs and sing "How's this for the Grand Canyon" is watching the wrong channel.

Of course they tried that and once the callers had seen it they (the callers) moved on and ETV went back to what, I always believe the do best - sexy and sensual. Maybe lately they have gone even softer than that and they have to rediscover that niche.

I am no expert on broadcasting law. I only know what I see and that is what I report here. But someone please explain this to me.

Why can I see warmer things during the day on E1 than I can see during the night show ?

Why can I see warmer things at almost anytime on E2 (girls doing full strips, close-ups and less covering up) than I can see on E1

So if there is a 'broadcasting law' dependant on their business base then that arguement flies out of the window.

Think back a few months ago and the 'telecoms law' that mean they could only charge a maximum of 1,99 for a SMS. Within a few weeks that 'law' seems to have vanished and they were back to 2,99. Better than that, the same 'law' now allows them to charge 9,99 for just one SMS

Don't blame the messengers (the people who work there). They can only tell you what they have been told to tell you.

Oh, there may be a 'broadcasting law' which affects what they can show. But they have IMO chosen that path to the detriment of their main service.

Watch this space as you may well find that 'broadcasting law' vanishing just as quickly as it came in.

Re: Tonight

No, bigboy. It's not about the satellite, it's about where the business is registered. If that particular country has rather strict laws about free to air channels, Eurotic has to obey the laws.

And some of their super mods said it sometimes last year. That's when I stopped watching, cause I knew what to expect.

Re: Tonight

Why could the italian channels on hotbird can show so much more and eurotic can not. Even sexysat on astra sometimes show more.

So there must be a possibility which isn't against the law but maybe they won't do because their business is more successful the way that it is.

Re: Tonight

It's the law. So stop hoping for anything beyond that. Some time last year they have changed their business location and made it very clear, that new laws were imposed. They couldn't change that even if they wanted to.
