The Bear Family at play - Another Tale from the Forest

It was nearly 10 o’clock (again), and as usual, Daddy Bear didn’t know what to do with the girls. Mummy Bear, who liked classical music, had gone off to a concert of Mussorgsky’s “Night on a Bear Mountain” and some other modern rubbish by Luciano Beario and Harrison Beartwistle.

“Where’s Auntie Julia Bear when you need her”, thought Daddy Bear to himself. “She would know what to do to keep the girls entertained. She always has some ideas for letting the girls dress up in ballet skirts and play with hats, walking sticks and umbrellas while they pretend to be statues. All seems pretty silly to me, but it seems to keep them quiet for an hour or two.

To tell the truth, Daddy Bear was a bit worried about his two teenage girls S Bear and M Bear. They were at a difficult age and their behaviour seemed to be over-exciting some of the boy animals in the forest. Daddy Bear thought they always seemed to be wearing not enough clothes when they went out, and he’d already had to have words with a couple of monkeys who were following them around, staring at them in a most unhealthy way.

“OK, girls,” he said, “I need you to go out and play for a while”, and he poured himself his usual glass of Schloss Bearenheimer. The girls seemed quiet enough. S Bear and M Bear were wearing not very much again, but it was quite dark outside, so Daddy Bear hoped that no-one would notice.

After a few minutes Daddy Bear glanced outside. Everything seemed fine. Two of the girls were sitting down doing nothing, and two others were inspecting and massaging each other’s feet, which Daddy Bear thought was a bit strange.

Then he saw what he had feared. “No, no, no”, he shouted in horror and ran out into the garden. S Bear and M Bear had taken their tops off and were rubbing their hands over their bear chests in a most unsuitable and suggestive way. Then they took their hands away and started hugging each other. Daddy Bear didn’t know where to look. They were both attractive girls, and S Bear in particular was very well-developed for her age.

“Stop it at once,” he shouted. “Otherwise I will put you both under a cold shower.” “Oh goody,” screamed the girls, “then we can play wet T-shirts and the boys will be able to see our n……..”

“No you won’t,” thundered Daddy Bear. “Get inside now. What if someone sees it and complains? We’ll have to shut up the house and move away again.”

But it was too late. At that moment there was the sound of a siren and a police panda car drew up at the door. Two burly policeman got out and arrested the two teenagers. Daddy Bear had to accompany them to the police station where all three were held for 24 hours before the two girls were charged with indecent exposure. Daddy Bear asked the policemen if he could stay in a police cell for a week. It was a vast improvement on what he feared his wife's reaction would be when he got home......

I think S bear is more suitable to play Goldilocks part. :))))))))

This tale doesn't refer to a particular show. The first one did as mentioned - 24/25 July. Hope you all got who the model L,A,C,K Bears were. One or two people have e-mailed me their suggestions which weren't entirely correct. But it woouldn't mean anything anyway unless you'd watched the show......

Congratulations, Bellerophon, applaudissement ! Perhaps lays and fables help where all other instruments failed up to now ???

Since it is mentioned, my favourite piece by Modest Mussorgsky would have to be 'Pictures at an Exhibition'

I am particularily drawn to the fifth movement - 'Ballet of the unhatched chicks' - which rather sums up Daddy Bear's teen-dreams quite nicely IMHO
