After a supreme effort from the night before, Shamus rang in and explained that he would be unable to operate the sfx machine for last night's show. The net result was that we were treated to a standard show - no double vision, no multiple transiitions, no strange lighting. Just honest to goodness ETV. But was this a bad thing ? I do not think so. The girls were clearly having a good time. Directed by someone (it's usually Mittwoch Merry) who knew how to get the best out of her charges. For the callers, those who would tune in at random times, they would know who was there and could relate immediately to a girl. Of course, the real test as far as ETV is concerned is not how pretty a show looked or how arty it was. The real test is how much money they made. If the money is in the 'art' then the 'artist' will be encouraged to continue until even the most loyal of callers finally give up. But even the 'artists' have shown that they can put on a normal show. By all means experiment but in moderation. It's not neccessary to fill a whole show with arty over-kill. |
