Now, boys and girls, you all remember how Daddy Bear was sad because S-Bear had gone off somewhere without telling him where she was going or if she was coming back, and that M-Bear’s behaviour had got naughtier since the Beavers arrived next door. Well, now read on…..

The Bears in the Forest Part 5 – The return of the Prodigal Daughter

It was 10 o’clock (as always) and Daddy Bear was, unusually, not drinking his 6th glass of Schloss Bearenheimer. No, he was reading his copy of Max Bearbohm’s “Zuleika Dobson” and staying sober. Yes, he had got a phone call earlier in the day from S-Bear to say that she was coming home and please would he pick her up at the bairport in the Fiat Panda?

To tell the truth, he had mixed feelings. Of course he would be very happy to see his daughter because she was his favourite, but there were a couple of things worrying him at the back of his mind.

He was a bit concerned about what M-Bear would do when she saw her sister again. The two girls were very close and some of their behaviour when they were together wasn’t very sisterly. All that rubbing and bear chests... And now that the once very shy M-Bear was cavorting around naked in the car wash all day long with those horrid Beavers next door, he feared that things might get really out of hand when the two girls saw each other.

Secondly, part of him had hoped that S-Bear would not come back to the Forest after she had had the chance to go out into the Big Bad World. He had always encouraged his girls to look forward, not back, so that when the time came for them to leave the Forest (like so many had over the years) they would move on to a new stage in their lives. He secretly hoped she would meet a nice bear while she was away and settle down and have lots of little bears.

But, worst of all, it would get all those oversexed monkeys too excited again, the ones who still came and sat outside the front gate with their tongues hanging out. Some of them still put very naughty messages through the letter box or telephoned to ask for news, and some had very, very naughty pictures of S-Bear which they stared at for a few minutes, and then - for some reason - made very strange faces and groaned and grunted a lot. Daddy Bear couldn’t understand it at all…….

Oh hell, thought Daddy Bear, and he picked up the bottle of Schloss B and drank it all in one gulp. She can have my copy of “Zuleika Dobson” to read. She’ll find it very appropriate…..

If you watch ETV with a wood tonight
You're in in for a big surprise,

Today's the day the bears are having their shower.

How could you predict and write about last night before that comes

You know the forrest is crawling with beavers these days. Not that I have anything against it, but maybe daddy Bear should consider adopting some new Bear daugters or get back some of his lost daughters. These beavers wandering in the forrest cutting down all the trees and leaving everything out in the open takes away all the exciting surprises. Obviously the monkees have been going wild at S-bears return. It seemed this made her a little weary. I wonder why daddy Bear allowed her to go into the carwash so soon after her return. Well knowing S-bear, maybe it wasn't up to him. The monkees may stirr lots of trouble, I guess we will see just how much tomorow.

Daddy Bear regretted drinking the Schloss Bearenheimer as soon as he had swallowed it.
Activities at the Car Wash meant that the local constabulary were very keen to pursue their duties in the area, regularly outnumbering the naughty monkeys that were usually hanging around. Daddy Bear would have to drive very steadily on his round trip to the bairport.

S-Bear was not happy when Daddy Bear finally arrived. She had been waiting at the bairport when she should be at her welcome home party over in the Cloudville district. She was going to be seriously late.

Finally arriving at the party venue, M-Bear could be seen pacing up and down in front of the door. She was wearing her long coat, odd for this time of year. As Daddy Bear stopped the Panda at the kerb, M-Bear rushed up to greet her sister and dragged her towards the door saying "hurry, the party is starting and you've got to get changed ...
... we're starting with hide-and-seek, a nice little earner the Boss says ... "

Hang on a second...this is about a certain someone returning to ETV isn't it? Sharp as a tack,me! I could be the next Inspector Clouseau!
A well crafted lesson in creative writing about someone you care about without resorting to the kind of sycophantic outpourings of affection that this forum has been plagued with of late!
