And the broadcasting companies and satellite operating firms bend over backwards not to offend the regulation authorities and therefore put some carte blanche clauses into the contracts with their clients. And again the clients bend over backwards not to come into conflict with these parts of their contracts.

And in all of this merry-go-round the powerful societal groups like political parties, churches (not church, we have some quite powerful minority churches by now), economical syndicates of all kind, and a lot of smaller groups try to meddle as best as they can. All of that is the System we live under.

But please take note that almost none of the laws and authorities forbids the presentation of erotic content explicitly ! The best counter examples are some of the late night movies broadcast by ARTE that are very drastic in what they show. The dividing line is between “art” and “pornography” and it is a very fine line indeed, as fine as the line between “smart” and “smart-alecky”. And if it is shown by ARTE it must be art !
