Money For "Nothing"

Today a contribution from that well known poet Doggy Burns and the sad but very true events of this last Wednesday evening.

I write this little rhyme
To report a serious crime
And paint this little rant
Like a good one by Rembrandt

In a moment when my spirt was weak
I felt a strong urge to speak
To a lady in white
Even if it could ruin my eyesight

And so I made the call
But what fate that should befall
Since the line was in defect
And the call did not connect

Yet one thing is quite certain
I could not ask her behind the curtain
Or remind her of that glory
But that's another story

And now I check my bill
For a sight that gave not a thrill
Since I now see a cost
For a call that was indeed lost

Now you can read my tale
Of my money to no avail
But some calls must get through
Else we will all be saying adieu

Re: Money For "Nothing"

I was chatting to some former etv employee who was trying to kill time sitting on a UK airport. While he was looking at the stream we developed the great idea of calling and giving some model a shock hearing someone talking in her mother tonge on the other end. The party went dead as the only thing that could be heared was the free signal with no one picking up the phone and of course this call was also billed.
So the conclusion to draw is pretty simple: while Germans seem to be aroused by footshows and ballons, Brits get going by the free signal on the phone ...
