There have been many famous secret agent. Possibly the most famous is James Bomd. But credit must also go to Matt Helm, Jon Flint and Austin Powers. But today I must address an imbalance and write about an agent who has been seriously over-looked. I refer to none other than Mike Hunt. Of course we all know who is Mike Hunt. We all talk about this mysterious figure that has done so many missions in foreign lands - certainly no use of his services in the UK. One of the earliest missions was to The Netherlands. When the centre of operations moved to the east and it took many a false start to conquer his nemesis there. And when the going got hot, the villains moved on. They moved even further east. Mike Hunt, like the best of his contempories, works most of the time under cover. But there are times when he needed to take risks and come out into the open. Now he was at his most vunerable. So many of his critics would comment on his every move. But ever a ladies man, there was always a new conquest. Here are some comments from a small sample of them. "Mike Hunt is just for me. I would not share him with anyone" Mike Hunt has moved on for the moment. Sightings have been reported in, of all places, Turkey. Only time will tell if these missions can survive repeated exposure or, once again, he just drifts back to the shadows to await that telephone call when his special services are most needed. |
